looking into it a bit more, gml compiles to c++, which i don't think has a random .next built in, but there is an advanced random library available. www.geeksforgeeks.org/cpp/random-h... is re-seeding causing performance issues?

np! it might also have a .next method, which should force a new number from the existing seed. weirdly it looks like the game maker docs page for loops uses random, so you'd think it would work...?

in unity, random will pull from a seed based on the timestamp, so if its being run multiple times within a millisecond itll repeat itself. i think if you re-seed it during the loop that would help
