Don’t know if she is that active. I am on Mastadon more regularly, but not everyone finds it as useful as I do.

If you hear a politician claim there really IS a “war on cars” in your city hall (and we don’t mean in an ironic way, like @thewaroncars.bsky.social does it), you have full and enthusiastic permission to steal @brenttoderian.bsky.social’s reply below. #UrbanTruth
Kudelka nailed it… we will miss him

On the thirtieth anniversary of John Howard coming to power, a searing analysis of the untouchable prime minister: how the ‘great economic manager’ sold our future. 26Feb2026 #auspol #AusHistory #politics #BookSky
“A diplomatic source said: 'The generals think Trump's Greenland plan is crazy and illegal. So they are trying to deflect him with other major military operations. They say it's like dealing with a five-year-old'.”
That’s an insult to 5-year olds.
A dangerous and corrupt moron.
Two massive dense forest areas on either side of the square, with paths throughout, creating wonderful shaded and cool environments
Already popular the day before they officially opened
In hot cities, people seek out cool places
The two forests frame the square, which is still massive, but now has a completely different feel
Want greener, cooler cities that are a “breath of fresh air?“ Just in case you thought Paris wasn’t ambitious enough this weekend, on top of our new exhibition, they opened the new “Urban Forest” in the square at City Hall! Part of @annehidalgo.bsky.social & team’s brilliant urban greening strategy.
Library Catalogues As Data book
Hurrah! My next book is instantiated, and in-the-world! Library Catalogues As Data: Research, Practice, Usage. Edited with Paul Gooding and @semames.bsky.social. Proud of this one! Official publication date soon… www.facetpublishing.co.uk/page/detail/...
Governments are colluding with corporations to ensure that the real and significant price-deflating benefits of wind and solar get absorbed as even bigger profits for corporations rather than flowing through to consumers, and it is obviously working amazingly well
Rachel’s absolutely correct and it needs tattooing on the back of every ministers hand: digital transformation is a culture change project. If you try and just dropship major new tech into an organisation without having a plan for culture, it will fail, badly.
“In Finland, the number of homeless people has fallen sharply. Those affected receive a small apartment & counselling with no preconditions. 4 out of 5 people affected make their way back into a stable life. And all this is CHEAPER than accepting homelessness.”

Slide saying “never forget, the best transportation plan is a great land-use plan” by Brent Toderian of @toderianUW.bsky.social
The best transportation plan is a great land-use plan. But too many cities still let flawed traffic modelling actually prevent smarter land-use decisions, resulting in what I call the “sweet spot of failure” — enough density to cause all those local traffic problems, but never enough to solve them.
Apparently I came up with the title for the King’s Public Lecture in Digital Humanities before January 20th, but good thing I have 3 months to psych myself up. www.kcl.ac.uk/events/every...
PS: Please do not reward this behaviour by clicking on his links. That is what he wants. His predictable pro-Pell rant does not remotely upset me. But what it does do is retraumatise all victims of child abuse who spend their lives feeling alone and afraid and that they won’t be believed.
7-Nilligan? Mr Bolt thinks he’s terribly clever by taking childish pot shots at me, treating issues about betrayal of children like a football score. Yet again champions man accused of raping & abusing children (& failing to act on knowledge of multiple paedophiles). Why choose that hill to die on?
Anyone else hear ABC Canberra radio am reporting ex-Chief of Army banging on about diversity ruining national pride & recruitment in the ADF?
Shame he never read or implemented all those reports by so many over so long about how awful his ADF culture is.
Maybe more hazing is what is missing.
Dutton today on Jews in Australia: "I’ve never seen an element of society ostracised in such a way"
Yeah, that's why they have a much lower life expectancy, earn 25% less than everyone else, and are 17 times more likely to be incarcerated...
Oh wait, no that's another group.. can't think who.
Hey, you know that Anglican priest who gave the Nazi salute to a ‘pro-life’ summit?
“[His] license in this Church has been revoked. He is no longer serving as a priest in the ACC.”

‘The irony of this fabricated campaign against Schwartz is that it’s a perfect example of what she’s talking about: the instrumentalisation of a Jew for political purposes by powerful groups.’

Albanese criticises Grace Tame for not wearing a Rio Tinto shirt
"It's disrespectful to wear a shirt that isn't branded with political donors."

Cartoon- scene is two billboards beside eachother. First billboard has pic of Albanese grinning with thumbs up & says "Labor: Bound to Disappoint" Second billboard has pic of Dutton grinning with thumbs up & says "Coalition: You have NO idea how low we'll go" Two people are looking at the billboards with one saying "I"m all for truth in political advertising but it CAN get a bit depressing."

The self-proclaimed "Christian right" are melting down over a bishop preaching mercy.
Hint: the Christian here is on the side of mercy.

Anyone who spends as much time thinking about K-12 athletes' genitalia as some pundits and politicians do need to be subject some type of school zone ban or watch list.
If art helped you heal, even if that art was created by a deplorable person, please know that you extracted the joy, strength, and insight from YOURSELF. No matter how awful they are, your healing is pure and it’s entirely and wholly because of *you*
Frontier Economics farting out numbers to a compliant news.corp and AFR is a good reminder that many in the press gallery see their role to just regurgitate rather than report.
Those same journos also look down on PR flacks like they think they are any different
Building nuclear reactors in Australia is like building a couple of hundred billion dollars worth of gigantic wave pools around the coast. Why? Just go to the beach you drongo. Can't even believe this is a conversation - what a stupid country.
