Hi #portfolioday!
My name is Luís, I'm a freelance ilustrator from Lisboa, and today for show and tell I bring some of my TTRPG covers.
Commissions closed but looking for more eyes on some current original projects.
Hi, do you like hot-reloading game logic? This dumb little woop coded game engine is 100% ECS (via flecs) and lets you implement individual systems in Lua. They're hot-reloaded and can run in parallel because each system gets its own Lua VM.
I actually didn't think I would be on the side of harassing and hating the robots but here we are. 🤣😭

after much deliberation and giving AI the benefit of the doubt, Wikipedia editors have had enough of AI slop. New policy bans LLM generated content, periodt www.404media.co/wikipedia-ba...
They steal your work, they dumb you down, they make your electricity more expensive, they take your water and your livelihood.
But at least you’ll get opportunity of a lifetime: information that according to one BBC study is likely to be wrong 51% of the time!

His other video is even better! It's about weird, uncanny, otherworldly animations. www.youtube.com/watch?v=12Wi...

I considered writing a long carefully constructed argument laying out the harms and limitations of AI, but instead I wrote about being a hater. Only humans can be haters.

3 décadas na área, não vejo a hora de parar o mais rápido possível. Estou com nojo. Mas, eu felizmente já tenho prazo de validade.
This is sad www.pcgamer.com/software/pla... #godotengine
In 2022, with no previous #godotengine contribution, in 30 minutes I solved a Godot's pain point that plagued me for years. My contribution was merged into Godot 3 and is still part of Godot 4 github.com/godotengine/...
Codebase exploration + visual debugging.
No stinky LLMs nor AI slop needed.
<goosebumps>
Perfect summary of the AI bubble:
Guess who is once again displaying their ability to hyperfocus on being a hater?
It's me, I spent all evening writing my own compilation of all the reasons I think AI sucks so I can post it under genAI-made FB posts.
Work-in-progress, suggestions welcome!

I mean, that's still ongoing, as current AI solutions constantly need data labeling and human validation.
There's also another bad side of AI not mentioned in the article: the hundreds of thousands of people that worked in slave-like conditions doing data labelling for AI companies, the majority from Venezuela, Kenya and Nepal working for Appen, Remotasks, Scale and CloudFactory.
You had my curiosity, but now you have my attention
Nothing still comes even close of the vector editing tools of Flash/Animate. The way you can just push and pull lines and shapes around, the way you can just slice any part of any line and shape is unique to Flash (the original SmartSketch core then Macromedia core), AFAIK.
