Bluebells in the village woods this evening.

Bird's-foot, Ornithopus perpusillus #wildflowerhour

Orange Tip butterfly resting from the breeze on some wild Garlic Mustard flowers.
The underwing patterns and colours are amazing camouflage and in such contrast to the vibrant orange wing tips when its in flight.

I love fog as you might know. And hunting the different fog phenomena like halos. Today I show you a Brocken Specter w multiple Fog Bows during a hike in the Alps. One of the most intense displays I've witnessed.

The light in the Haller forest earlier this week was unreal.

The light in the Haller forest earlier this week was unreal.

A male Sharp-tailed Grouse sitting in snow. Short golden, dried grasses stick up through the snow. The photo is taken at sunrise, with the sun at a very low angle. Soft golden sunlight illuminates the grasses and the grouse, while the depressions in the snow fall into a soft blue shadow. The grouse is on the right side of the photo, in profile, looking to the left. The bird's breast is cream in color, highlighted by brown chevrons that become more numerous and closely packed higher up the breast. The sides and back are mottled with tans, browns, and dark brown feathers. Above the bird's eye is a bright yellow comb, specialized feathers like eyebrows.
