Unfortunately, universities are particularly bad at paying invoices on time. I've seen it firsthand from universities of varying sizes. It's a real problem.

Oh hi new followers! Welcome! I'd be curious to hear where you're all coming from. I'm not super active at the moment - focusing on IRL stuff for myself - but I'm around. I'm working on a project that is a little different from my norm, but I'll share it when it's more complete, so that's coming.

Found your post trying to figure out what is going on with USPS because we have the same problem and they are claiming the same reason. This is in Chicago.

I had one of those earlier. The best kind of nap!

There are people who think they are strong because they close themselves off from empathy, when in reality they are afraid to be vulnerable and they are letting their fear win.

I once had a dentist who was really interested in hearing about ancient mammal teeth. I think I brought her a copy of one of the docodont papers. I bet there would be quite a few interested dentists.

Yay! Hm, if that sort of feed catches on, maybe I don't need to think so much about an Insta replacement. Especially since I'm not focused on freelance work

Some of the content I will miss from Insta are the videos of people making things, all sorts of things that I never thought about how they were made. I esp enjoy seeing vids of traditional crafting. Any recommendations for accounts to follow to see more of that type of thing here?

Leaving FB will be fairly easy for me. I think it's mostly just given the illusion of connectedness for a while. Instagram, however, will be harder. What are people using as alternatives? Is Cara good?

A blue chambray shirt featuring elbow patches with a white and yellow zigzag design. There are some embroidered zigzag lines, but there will be more when I finish it.

A turquoise garment is laid out on a large table. It is dress-shaped, but has been opened up along the front like a jacket and also opened up along the sides to the waist. There are strips of light blue bias tape along the center opening.

I've been very much focusing on making things lately - it's been good for my mental health. Been sewing and #mending lately for a bit of something different. My current works in progress are some elbow patches on a chambray shirt and a dress I'm #upcycling to a duster/surcoat!

And then there was the issue of disposing the wayer. I wasn't sure about pouring a whole bunch of dissolved glue down my drain was the best idea. I strained it through cheese cloth and paper towels first.

Maybe it was because I was trying to desolve all four at the same time, but after about 24 hrs of soaking, I ended up with models that felt like they were covered in snot, lol. I left them for another day+, and that mostly resolved it.

Definitely worth a try, except in this case some of the supports would be inside the cranium. I could potentially break those up and pull them out...

The posterior view of a black, 3D printed skull. The surface at the back end, where supports were, is rough.

Here is the support surface. Not too impressed, but perhaps worth experimenting with and tweaking parameters at some point. If only multi materials didn't take so very long to print

a pine tree with bugs hanging all around it. at the very top is a dragonfly-like meganeura with open wings, circling the base is the giant millipede arthropleura. on the branches sit various insects and circular pine cones.

Playing around with water soluble PVA support for the first time! At this point I'm not wowed by it, but maybe I'll feel different once I clean all the supports off. #3Dprinting

I think we have @textfiles.com to thank for this! As soon as I was told about this archive, I immediately found Preparing Dinosaurs, opened it and then, like a magnet, immediately found the section abt CT scanning fossils, which is what I do. It felt funny/strange to end up immediately there.
