Snuggled in their beds with visions of mentorships dancing in their heads.
Illustrators pencils were clicking and clacking while writers keyboards were ticking and tacking. But on May 15, the wait wound be over and mentees would announce, “Dr Seuss, Move over!”

Just got my submission MITCHELL’S MASTERPIECE submitted. Although winning would be a perk, I just hope the kids enjoy this humorous tale of creation.
Love the merging of picture and story!
My dad taught me there are things to take seriously, ourselves should never be one of them.
I look in the mirror and gain confidence that inside is a younger person still gleaming.
And then I look again and realize hat younger one is staring back wondering, “What the hell has happened?!?” 😉

I truly believe until we rescue the child in our own souls, we can never grow into the society we hope to become. Joyfully listen to the dreams, hope and tears of the innocent who still believe and blast through the jaded casings of adulthood to nurture, thrive and feel hearts while holding hands.
I’ve figured it out - who I’d like to be like when I grow up.
His life was based on genuine kindness, clear communication and gratitude. He had the uncanny ability to look into the minds of children and make them feel important.
After all, isn’t this what we strive for as we write KidLit?
Thank you. I make a quilt to go with each story. Gives me time to mill things over and process new ideas. Quilts that tell a story. 😊
I’m working on a quilt to go with my Annie Ant story. At least she made it to the land of baskets and juicy melons. 😉 Creativity w/o words. 😊
I did it.
Wayne Gretzky said, “You miss 100% of the shots you never take.
I took my shot and I’ll see what happens…🥅
What’s the worst that could happen? I’m iced for a bit and think, “Well puck that,” Then I roll up my sleeves & go back to work. 😉🏒
May our dreams come true!

A sincere thank you to all of the judges who gave countless hours and thought to every ms. And a HUGE congrats to those who have a shot at a dream! May good contracts and sales all come your way!!! Truly happy for every one of you and feel blessed to be associated with a wonderful group of people!
PB writers have to make every word count just like lyricists I’ve done that too. I once got to interview one of my favorite song writers. He told me words touch the mind, music the heart and both the soul.
What are songs you love which tell good stories.

I’m in love. The tree of knowledge, of good and evil, of dreamers and gleaners, of passion and performance, wishes and wanderings,…
Who would like one? And a comfy chair to go with it?
Trying to find an agent, editor and a great critique group where I can learn and grow. I don’t have the eyes to see what others can.
Progress, not perfection thus punitive self punishment. Have pride in the form but not one self. Be humble. Have faith, trust. There are many willing to lend a helpful hand helping find resources. This genre is full of pleasant people, very few unprincipled persons.
And how to use alliteration…😂
I live by deadlines so that is good. Learning, even better! Best- AMAZING people!!!
Two days away and I’m still living and smiling and realizing, no matter outcome, I’ll be happy for others and I will survive. 😅 #lifeisgood
When I need to celebrate (give myself positive vibes😉), I’ll find something I can look at as a win and go get a dirty Coke Zero, tell someone what I’ve done and go home, crank up some happy music, dance, scrub or quilt. Or a virgin pina colada with a mini umbrella…😋
I keep notes on ideas and write them all up. The strong ones I move forward and weaker ones may never turn into anything BUT either way, it keeps my brain well oiled and my fingers working. Each one is an exercise in faith and better skill.
Thank you for your time and compassion. It’s truly appreciated!
Lollipop looked out from her big green egg, “Ohhh, to stretch my neck and crumpled up legs!” From my manuscript LOLLIPOP FINDS HER FAMILY
I’m still learning. It takes a “write” mindset to know when they’re necessary or can be done with dialogue. Using a story builder template helps me. I can visualize as well as separate dialogue. Artists know their stuff so I like to keep them minimal. Then it becomes the best of both worlds!
Free writes are good. I also will go organize a room and let it be me, bins and stuff. I organize the stuff into bins and then put them away in specialized places. For some reason the organizing helps clear my home and my mind. I keep going until there is a story or labels on every drawer. 😅
This is a first for me in #PBParty but in all the other stuff I’ve done, it depends on the manuscript. There are some I just have a feeling on while others just don’t capture the magic. Then I need eyes and help. Once I clear out the gunk in my head, I can write with a better voice.
I have to say, I’ve been scrolling through some of the artwork in PB’s and the PB Party challenge. I’m in awe!!! You are such a talented and truly gifted group! I can only hope to be paired up with someone as talented as you one day…😃
2 days brainstorm, quilt, listen to podcasts and music. 3 days write, edits and rewrites. 2 days study, service, house & yard work. I keep a thought 🧐journal by my side in case I need to write something down quick. If I do that, I can then go back to whatever I’m doing with out my brain cramping 🥴😉

A sincere thank you to Mindy Alyse Weiss and all of her AMAZING team for putting on this year’s PB Party, ranking groups and train!!
Woot! Woot! Good luck everyone! May the fairy dust blow along your track as the party rolls forward!
