The legislature did a grave disservice when we failed to secure long term funding for transit service. I'm heartbroken to read the scale of cuts TriMet is now proposing. I hope you'll hold me accountable to prioritizing working with my colleagues to find a solution. #orpol

Portland: In the absence of leadership on the transit funding crisis, @trimet.org now proposes VERY serious service cuts, with possibly more to come. These are a mixture of some restructuring ideas from our previous work, and some bad losses of frequency. 1/n
The American people and our service members deserve transparency, accountability, and a full explanation of this administration's actions. I will continue to speak out to ensure we do not unnecessarily escalate the conflict with Iran.
We must never forget that military force should always be a last resort, used only when necessary and with clear, lawful authority.
The Constitution is clear. Decisions about war and peace belong to Congress. Unilateral military action, taken without Congressional approval or a full public debate, is dangerous. It puts American lives at risk and undermines the democratic process that must guide decisions of such magnitude.
As a State Representative and a proud armed forces service member, my top priority is the safety of Oregonians and the well-being of the service members who put their lives on the line.
Decisions about war and peace must go through Congress. The American people and our service members deserve transparency and accountability. We cannot risk an unnecessary war with Iran.

Last week, on June 11th, I spoke out against the use of military force and surveillance drones to suppress peaceful protestors in Los Angeles.
I will continue to oppose any expansion of police surveillance here in Oregon. #ORLeg #ORPol
@repthuytran.bsky.social crushing it alert
The bill, sponsored by state Rep. Thuy Tran (D-Portland) and Sen. Kathleen Taylor (D-Portland), passed the Senate last week on a 28-1 vote.
I rose yesterday on the House Floor to say what many Oregonians know: our transportation system is in crisis. If we can’t afford to maintain it, we can’t afford to build it. Let’s invest in safety, maintenance, and the workers who keep Oregon moving. #orleg #orpol
I spoke out today because what’s happening to Congresswoman LaMonica McIver @replamonica.bsky.social is wrong.
Oversight is not a crime. Advocacy is not a crime. I won’t stay silent while women of color in office are targeted for doing their jobs. #orleg #orpol

Yesterday, Governor Kotek signed HB 3920—my first bill signed into law this session. It expands access to the Disabled Veterans Dependent Tuition Waiver for children of disabled veterans by raising the age limit, recognizing delays in disability ratings. #orleg #orpol

Employers: You do not have to let ICE into non-public spaces without a judicial warrant.
Protect your workers. Defend your community.
I stood on the House Floor this week to sound the alarm:
ICE is targeting Oregon workplaces again and trying to turn employers into agents of fear.
These tactics are meant to intimidate.
But they only work when people don’t know their rights.
Oregon will not be silent.

🎉 I’m proud to share that my bill, HB 3920, is headed to the Governor’s desk!
This legislation expands tuition benefits for the children of 100% disabled veterans by raising the age cap for Oregon’s Veterans Dependent Tuition Waiver from 23 to 31.

I spoke out against reckless federal layoffs. A day later, the Administration moved to cut 80K VA jobs.
🛑 80000 families struggling to pay bills.
🛑 80000 public servants—many veterans—discarded.
I won’t stay silent. We must stand up for workers and veterans. #OrLeg #OrPol

On Jan. 13, I was sworn in for my 2nd term representing House District 45 as the 2025 Legislative Session began. Governor Kotek’s State of the State reaffirmed her focus on housing, education, addiction, and climate. Excited to work on policies to strengthen Oregon!
