We did a trip on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT today, from Kennedy to Mount Dennis. Overall it seemed good - fast even outside, and modern. I kind of enjoyed the bilingual announcements. Some other thoughts 🧵
Happy Eglinton Crosstown LRT opening day to those who celebrate! Look forward to trying it out later. #TTC #TOpoli #ONpoli
As of tomorrow (Sunday, February 8th), this is what Toronto’s TTC network will look like. Can’t wait to ride Line 5 Eglinton (Crosstown LRT)
(I had to post this video bc I think it hits the exact moment you took that photo!)
Great show!

Yesterday I was at Committee advancing an affordable housing project with a day care, & Indigenous place making. Today I’m visiting industrial users, including those making electric bikes, temporary architecture, & 3D metal printing components, public art, etc. Good couple work days!
Playing with elevation data in #Blender. This is the #Toronto and Region Conservation Authority (TRCA) boundary which includes all of the watersheds that converge in Toronto. Going to try draping some orthophotos and land cover data over this. Other ideas?

We know Toronto is growing. As we grow, we need new public facilities and services, so that affordable housing, libraries, childcare, community and cultural spaces and public art options are available and easily accessible.
Two people cycle in a dedicated bike lane that is separated from the roadway by green infrastructure. A person using a mobility aid waits to cross an intersection, standing behind a tactile walking surface indicator.

Maybe because some other social media platforms ban Canadian journalism…?
Anyway, this is good! Though I need an option for the reverse trip.. to visit friends in downtown Guelph from Toronto on weekends.

This ambulance *zoomed*, unimpeded, down the “red carpet” on Bathurst today. Good to see.
There can be benefits of transit priority that extend beyond transit.
