I know what EGU is but Do you think anyone can afford to go to these conferences?. Plus we're not talking about professors or people in the industry. We're talking about students'and idea of geophysics. Students from my country.

I've never been to an AGU conference (hope one day though). I'm talking about students from Algeria 🇩🇿 (Africa)

Students told me they had no idea geophysics can be used in archeology, Geohazard and agriculture.

When I tell people that I'm a geophysicist they all think I work in the oil and gas industry. Most people think it's the only application of geophysics. Students too. Where I work, geophysics is a new speciality and I'm happy to report that lots of students are choosing a masters in geophysics.
