Tried recreating gels from Portal 2 using ray marching in Godot.
Couldn't get it to work with built in lighting, so everything you see is custom made. I might try doing this again but with sphere meshes and SDFs to blend them together (if that's even possible).

Did a major UX update for my Godot 3D Lines and Trails addon. Also added a little examples scene that gives you a guided tour/demonstration of the addon's various features.

I'm having too much fun with this, lol. Most of us have experienced infinity mirror screen share before... but not with rotation and perspective!

๐Ÿ•ธ๏ธ๐ŸŒธ Iโ€™ll be late with the devlog that shows everything Iโ€™ve been working on.

Summary:
-created the deity
-changed all scenes to not use sdfgi (using reflectionprobes+ baked lightmaps)

Going to work on the new outfits for Pris =D

Have you ever wondered how to use Godot light shaders? Or how light is generally calculated in 3D? Or how to implement a toon light shader?
If so, my new tutorial / blog post might be helpful:

Quick TL;DR:

- Godot Foundation has a lot less staff than you might think, and a lot less than the project needs - the Dev Fund needs to ๐Ÿ“ˆ to change that
- Asset store (!) soonโ„ข ๐Ÿ›’
- Job board soonโ„ข ๐Ÿ’ผ
- Project priorities very soonโ„ข ๐Ÿ“œ
- (Permissive) trademark policy soonโ„ข โ„ข๏ธ

Might do so, other physics engines fixe a lot of wonky stuff that happens with regular physics.

I had an issue where under High velocity, regular physics wouldn't detect a body entering an area. Under rapier, it fixed it. Same should happen under jolt.

I'd love to, but in kinda caught up in school stuff of my own, sorry. If you wind up needing help with VR stuff, both the Discords on the Godot Website are good.

1 year ago 1 0 1 0

No problem! Been working on VR projects of my own so I'm vaguely aware of how the default toolkit works. Also thanks!

There should be a few signals that give the controller that picked up the PickableObject node, if you write a script based around that (maybe on a separate component node you make) you should be able to subscribe to those signals and grab the position based on the conteoller node to the Object.

Your choice... Just saying, there's options with Godot where you'd usually have to pay with Unity.

Yeah, as much as I love Godot, the built in physics are really... Something.

Have you used Jolt or Rapier?
