On this day, 34 years ago, the ML 5.9 Roermond #earthquake struck near the NL–DE border early morning. It caused major building damage, injured dozens, was felt as far as France and England, and triggered aftershocks that lasted for years. One person died from a heart attack. 🧪⚒️

Stenen in de stad Zierikzee Dat Zierikzee een zeer welvarend stadje was, blijkt wel uit het feit dat de Dikke Toren gepland was hoger te worden dan de Dom in Utrecht. Via de haven zijn veel natuurgesteente aangevoerd

Sure, but in dark limestone? Most often that means anaerobic circumstances. And marine worms.

Fossilizing a worm is pretty difficult as it is completely made of soft tissues (like jellyfish). It looks like carbonate rock to me and can well be calcite. Calcite can take very many forms. Sorry for spoiling the worm-theory 🫢
