Welcome Dan!
What do we know about mammal biodiversity patterns in the American tropics? Find out in the new book chapter by @liomys.mx and yours truly 👇

The whole book is a gem for those interested in the study of mammals of one of the world's most diverse regions!
Very happy to share this new article on Andes-Amazon tree diversity change. We found that over the last 4 decades, tree richness changed differently across the Andes-Amazon regions. Thanks to the many researchers across the world who made this possible!

Another important paper published today! 🌐🧪 This is a first characterization of the beetle communities in agricultural landscapes at the national scale. Work led by Benoit Penel @cbgpmontpellier.bsky.social @inrae-france.bsky.social www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...
Very interesting article indeed. @peeer.bsky.social
Without forward-looking models, biodiversity policy risks missing the road to recovery.
Our new PNAS article calls for predictive tools and a World Biodiversity Research Programme to guide global action.

Thrilled to see the first #PhD chapter by @annaroennfeldt.bsky.social published in @natcomms.nature.com. This multi-region comparison shows that lack of #niche conservatism in #non-native #plants might be transient and potentially linked to dispersal limitations. doi.org/10.1038/s414...
Welcome Marco! Great to have you on board!
Researchers at TIBS meeting. From left to right: Hanna Tuomisto, Barnabas Daru, Michael Dawson, Fabricio Villalobos, and Christine Meynard in the front
TIBS @biogeography.bsky.social meeting in Aarhus was fun, lots of discussions were had, things were learnt, and the last diner in an open venue was a great idea. Thanks Hanna Tuomisto and all the organizing committe for a very successful conference! @fabrovillalobos.bsky.social @peeer.bsky.social
Attention young researchers!
I am currently participating at the TIBS meeting in Aarhus. If you are interested in macroecology, if you have questions about @ecography.bsky.social or the publishing process in general, or if you are a young researcher looking for advice, please come forward, I would love to talk to you!
Yes; the effects of drift do show up in our analysis, but we only had information of the immediately adjacent field, and a generalist index of pesticide use (TFI) in the county, so we are missing information on the other fields at the more local level
And because one good news comes with another, this other excellent paper, also led by another great ♀️postdoc @cbgpmontpellier.bsky.social with @g-fried.bsky.social was also published today 🧪🌐on agricultural intensification & ecosystem services by 🌿
esajournals.onlinelibrary.wiley.com/doi/10.1002/...
This paper is far overdue, so I am very happy to finally see it published! We show that herbicides have noticeable impacts on plant communities in agroecological landscapes at the national level. Must read!

Really excited about what came in the mail today:
This from a young researcher who did her theses a few years ago @cbgpmontpellier.bsky.social demonstrating ways to use existing air monitoring devices and eDNA to monitor biodiversity at large scales.
