It will still be low fidelity. Closer to the fidelity that was intended even, if they simply increase the resolution through the negative. As long as they don't use AI upscaling that is.

Unukalhai would make a ton of sense!
I think Zero is a given. I think Gaia and Ryne are likely simply because they actually recorded voice lines for Gaia. However, the VA for Gaia simply might just have a home booth and was free on an afternoon. lol
It is being approved by Danny Boyle apparently.
Assuming they don't use AI. They've said they aren't, but who knows. ๐คท
While true, this is taking the original negative and converting it to 4K, removing a layer of conversion (Mini-DV -> DVD -> 4K scaling by TV software or blu-ray player). The controversy is I guess in supporting a different form of contrast range. It might look different in HDR instead of SDR.
Sign me up! ... unwillingly, of course!
I guess I just think The Pitt exists in a slightly different space as other properties. There is definitely toxic pockets of fandoms that seem to make discussions about properties like The Witcher, Rings of Power, Star Wars, Marvel, etc. frustrating. All typically involving some number of shoulds.
Robby got that. Al-Hashimi did not. Maybe she'll get it in season 3, but I have a hard time thinking she will with the show's format. So I don't think it's unreasonable for me to have wanted more.
My shoulds are relegated to a show's clear aims. So they can do whatever they want with Robby's personality, the "ships," etc. I'm even fine with Al-Hashimi being in denial. But I thought there should be more about what epileptics face on a greater level, and their options and need for support.
If I name any characters, they are examples of who could play the role in adding to the story. As an epileptic myself, I would have liked more closure and awareness for a show with such a large societal impact. It does us disservice otherwise, and that is a valid criticism, in my opinion.
I'm not saying Dr. Robby should apologize (especially when his arc this season is about him being burnt out, suicidal, angry, and, in Mohan's words, "a dick"). But my point is that there were ways to add greater awareness and dispel stereotypes in a show purporting to be realistic.
But I think people are within their right to think the condition should have been given the same amount of closure as the sickle cell anemia, caregiver's fatigue, geriatric, brain cancer (which I also have), and other cases... within this season. Al-Hashimi's story was stopped short of that.
But by leaving Al-Hashimi where she is, it does not dispel stigmas about epilepsy and stereotypes about epileptics. I'm not saying she should be allowed to work in an ED. Hell no, that's dangerous! There's a reason we and our doctors are obligated to report to at least the DMV.
Look. I agree with you when it comes to properties that have a *cultural* impact. However, The Pitt has an important societal one too. I couldn't care less about if Santos and Garcia fuck or have a romantic relationship. I couldn't care less if Boba Fett crawls out of the sarlacc pit.
Mine too. What a classic.
I'm sorry, man.๐
One seems to be related to my vision problems and the other to the tinnitus I've been having. I'm sure my onc will advise and refer me, but it's probably time for a visit to my primary too.
When you get your MRI brain scan results, and you're still in remission, but there's two incidental findings you don't understand that seem concerning.
There is a lot of discrimination against people with epilepsy. And showing a *emergency doctor* with it who is actively making a bad decision getting into a car the same day of their last seizure, won't help dispel any stereotypes.
Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.
Finale review: F
Please understand not everyone with epilepsy hides it. Please understand that even those who do, it's because the social safety net often doesn't provide them enough support. Epileptics can still do many things. Or need to.
She obviously won't be able to practice emergency medicine. Hardly anyone with epilepsy would dispute that. I was hoping a character with a modicum of [remaining] empathy would have helped her come to terms with that. I was hoping it'd be Dr. Abbott. But nope. Awful. Awful, awful, awful.
Obviously someone shouldn't put them or others at risk with #epilepsy. But this season did nothing to dispel stigmas associated with it. That storyline needed closure, otherwise what do people take away from it? Not enough.
I expected better from #ThePitt.

<3 My favorite villain!
I think the only musician-centric reporting I've seen is "So-and-so wasn't scheduled to perform until [X] weeks ago." Which is like... every big festival ever.
Same! ๐
