Painting titled "Drifting" from 2019. This was an early one from what I've come to think of as my "white fabric" phase. The use of white fabric was intended as a foil against an otherwise dark composition, and to provide rhythm and movement.

Part of an unfinished painting, future uncertain. I got as far as blocking in and building up layers of the figure, but the overall composition is a mess. Letting things settle for awhile before determining it's fate.

This is mostly raw umber, burnt sienna, yellow ochre and white, with a bit of alizarin and ultramarine for darkest areas. Utrecht is probably one of my favorite brands, but I also enjoy Gamblin and a small company called RGH.

Still life that's lurking in the corner of a larger painting, done in a very limited palette.
