Completely agree. We should have kept it off our shelves, but, even if it's there, this Canadian is not buying American booze. The govt can allow it in, but it doesn't mean I have to buy it. #BoycottUSA

Mr G has influenced thousands of people. Our city, our province and our communities have been lucky to have him. I suspect even retirement won't stop that influence. #Music is too important! #sk #yqr

Another point to show that most people do not want book bans. The outrage (as usual) is manufactured.

Here’s one of the most interesting things about Finland that I’ve understood in my years working with Helsinki (one of the most interesting cites in the world) — they’ve ALWAYS understood the BIG opportunity to carve out a lead role in the post-carbon economy. Smart petro-states should get that too.

Completely agree. I won't donate to charities that spend my entire donation asking me to donate even more money to their charity.

Polievre has done nothing to get his security clearance or show Canadians he's about anything other than rage-baiting. Get security clearance already! Polievre is a catastrophic failure.

Decisions made on the fly have never worked out well in this city.

I'd really like the to see the Night Market come back. That was a nice event back in the day. Just a different downtown vibe! Farmers Market downtown is a benefit to restaurants, bars, shops and other businesses. It benefited no one at REAL. #yqr

I'm not disagreeing that CP is an essential service.

And changing everyone over to superboxes isn't the end of the world. Many of us in cities have been on that for years. Rural Canada has had post offices forever.

It's all in the dressing room scene with Nigel. She's not a waif and a ton of clothing made for models was in sizes smaller than her.

In #yqr, drivers would only read "road open" and assume it was for them. #CarCulture has meant repeatedly saying no to letting traffic on our one and only stretch of pedestrian street, about 500m. We built a plaza for people and caved to let drivers on it around a year later.

I do think tech companies are underestimating the amount of
- new account fatigue
- new app fatigue
- useless upgrade fatigue
- terms of service fatigue

Pros:
Reduces fatalities
Reduces injuries
More people biking
Less pollution
Economic boost
Less congestion
Healthier population
Kids biking/rolling to school
Safer sidewalks
Helps address the climate emergency
Increase active transportation
More inclusive spaces

Cons:
A driver might get mad

If only the pros outweighed the cons.

Yet for most municipalities the "Cons" outweigh the "Pros"!

Nike backtracks after 'walkers tolerated' Boston Marathon ad draws outrage | CBC News Runners accused Nike of being tone-deaf for a sign it posted in a store along the route for the Boston Marathon, which is also the premiere marathon event for para athletes and adaptive runners.

First Nike pace-shamed walkers at UK Parkruns. Got an official response from the head of parkrun and ultimately removed the signs due to backlash. Now, they've tried the same at the Boston Marathon. We already had reason to #BoycottNike as part of #BoycottUSA, but this is just further fuel.

And the US has not been a great ally to anyone. They reap what they sow.

True, but in #yqr I still have concerns about how we take care of the urban forest we have. Proper pruning of trees is essential and many trees don't get it.

Some very wealthy corporations and people want you to think the idea of “15-Minute Cities” is a scary conspiracy.

But it’s really just common sense. More things nearby without always needing a car.

But have you heard of the “1-Hour City Conspiracy?”

Stay tuned.

In the (paraphrased) words of @tomflood.bsky.social it’s no big conspiracy, I just don’t want to go far for stuff.

The graphic speaks for itself. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Our Prime Minister, Mark Carney, is named by TIME as the 2ND most influential Global leader, after the Pope.

We chose the right leader, Canada. 🍁

Despite his critics ...

Over 50 organizations have written to Ottawa to urge enforcement of the Canada Health Act.

#yqrcc does not want to admit #InducedDemand is real and I'm certain they don't believe in #JevonsParadox either. #CarCulture is king and sprawl is encouraged.

44 years ago today, the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms was signed into law. It laid the foundation for a stronger, more just Canada.

It is up to us all to protect the values of freedom and equality enshrined in the Charter — to keep building a better Canada, for all.

Ban helium party balloons. Simple. Preserve the supply we have by not wasting it on single use decor. Medical use is far more important.
