πIt has been a pleasure to collaborate in this highly interesting study published in @commsbio.nature.com!
πCongrats @gmallaret.bsky.social and colleagues!
πAnd more to come from the collaboration bewteen Laetitia Davidovic's research group and Applied Metabolomics at @researchmar.bsky.social.

π Future works should ideally satisfy all the steps outlined to ensure confidence in the metabolites found to be significant for a specific cancer . They should clearly indicate their limitations by specifying the workflow steps completed and those that require further research.
π€ The analytical laboratories working on MS-based metabolomics for clinical applications should consider that they are providing crucial data for medical researchers, being aware of the need of providing robust results to cancer research.
π‘ With the main objective of favouring the standardization, we propose a workflow for the establishment of cancer biomarkers which includes different pivotal steps and issues that must be carefully evaluated for maximizing robustness and reliability on the proposed biomarkers.
π One of the key aspects is the need for a consensus in MS-based metabolomics for the discovery of clinical biomarkers and their implementation for the early-diagnosis of cancer.
π In this study, we identified the most critical aspects of the metabolomics workflow that should be carefully addressed in future mass spectrometry-based metabolomics studies in cancer diagnosis.
π€ This thorough and critical review of the MS-based metabolomics studies for cancer biomarker of the last 7 years has been possible thanks to the strong collaboration, passion and dedication of different researchers from Applied #Metabolomics research group and @researchmar.bsky.social.
