But through my color choices, which were intended to be beautiful and not channel the anxiety, I ended up creating something that does look like the eye of a storm. The eye of a storm is the calm center. It's entirely appropriate because creating is my way of centering myself.

I worked with curved shapes created through straight lines, which is a recurring theme in my work. I broke the circles here and there because I was channeling the idea of "spinning out of control" because that's how I feel in the current political climate.

Here is my completed Eye of the Storm quilt. More info in the first comment because it doesn't fit here.

I decided to go with matchstick quilting using threads in all of the light shades. I used thread from at least 12 partially used spools and thought I might use some up but only finished off two of them!
