I decided to go with matchstick quilting using threads in all of the light shades. I used thread from at least 12 partially used spools and thought I might use some up but only finished off two of them!

My top is complete, backing fabric selected, and ready to baste. I am going to call it Eye of the Storm (thank you @andreaneumann613 for the suggestion!).
