That's how I did in Unity! Though working with visible characters in Unity is a nightmare itself.

I made a custom effect that affects only alpha and then ran it through the string like a caret.

What dialogue systems are people using for #godot? I've been using ink for like 10 years and wanna explore more. Editing in text is best, but visual editing is fine too if it allow multiple nodes per node. I guess twine-like would be a compromise.
Don't care about localization atm. #indiedev
