we had a team of volunteers—external, masters students and a phd student—who kindly gave up their saturday to help out. they worked extremely hard all day, ensuring the event was a success. outreach helps change perceptions of data careers and give junior colleagues opportunities for development
last saturday we partnered with @livunihls.bsky.social's public engagement team for their regular 'meet the scientists' event at the eureka! science + discovery museum. our stall (led by @ejjohnson93.bsky.social) aimed to show that scientists can be programmers too and was a huge success!
