I’ve been so quiet but I’m trying to adjust to being in blue. I’ve had 2 days off and I’m on edge all the time thinking did I do this, that or the other. I love my job I just don’t know if my brain is coping or if it’s the transition and it will get easier. 😅

I've had a lovely 2 days off work and Christmas with my family. Although no downtime with two younguns. As of tomorrow I am in 3, off 1 then in 3. 😴
My other half gifted these to me and I really need the noise cancellation as Im struggling at the minute so looking forward to testing them out!

Going to carry on this as I feel I need it with the transition from StN to RN.

#3GoodThings

1. Disclosed being autistic and having ADHD to my manager leading to lots of support.
2. Stayed calm in a complex situation and provided support to a colleague.
3. Got all my Christmas shopping done!

#3GoodThings

1. I got praise at work for spotting things others didn’t and being a dab hand at catheterisation 😅
2. My kids are happy, healthy and loved.
3. Spending time with the other half and feeling content 😌

I’m a very lucky woman 🥰

I've had a difficult transition leading to an IBS flare-up, which I am now struggling with. There are lots of different factors contributing, but the transition from student to RN isn't great, especially for my autistic/ADHD brain. But im soldiering on and hoping it all feels ok soon!

I completely agree. Whilst I found some topics repetitive and could be mundane, the skills learnt to do those essays at each level is fundamental for the role of a nurse - no matter what job/area you end up in.

I also find the results shocking (but also true from experience) for placement experiences, financial difficulties and the mental health difficulties. Myself and friends describe our training as traumatic mainly due to placement experiences. There’s so much that needs to change for StNs.

IMO the academic level was crucial to learn the critical thinking required. However, I am an academic type of person but also a practical learner. I know of people who struggled with some taking many attempts to pass each assignment. I didn’t understand how they made the entry requirements.
