Looking up at a huge room with two galleries on two floors above. The impression is one of a church or abbey. There is a wooden barrel vault ceiling, stained glass sky lights and large window at the gable end. It all looks very gothic revival, though think was altered later than this would suggest.

Spreading expanse of a 25 y/o floribunda rose, “French Lace,” which is a ruffled, creamy white with a pale pink center. The rose is planted in a container, in front of a weathered fence and to the right of a wall of star jasmine, which is just about to bloom. A crape myrtle looms over the rose to the right, and the messy garden has volunteer asparagus ferns and a fig plant, with a concrete curb edging green lawn. A bit of blue sky can be seen behind the plants.
