This week’s topic: Salicaceae. The boundaries of #Salicaceae have changed in recent decades. It is now recognized as a cosmopolitan family of woody, mostly dioecious plants. Salix arctica is a rhizomatous groundcover & one of the most northerly vascular plants. 📷 David Stanley CCBY2 #botany 🌾🧪🌱

I still need to plant the last of my narcissus bulbs. Let's go back to 1614 and see some of the most coveted European varieties of the day. My eye goes to the little white narcissus moschatus, which unusually likes damp conditions, and which I have not yet grown.
