Department of Homeland Security & Department of War keep posting videos with Bible verses to justify their imperial violence. But, sure, let's question if #ChristianNationalism is even a thing.

I spend lots of time in the ICE field office and immigration court. People are being kidnapped every day - people who are showing up for their immigration process “doing it the right way.” This video was captured a few months ago by Vecinos Unidos - one of the groups I work with. Watch to the end.

Make no mistake though, things are escalating in Dallas and beyond. The illusion that U.S. citizens are safe from these gestapo tactics is just that: an illusion.

Later, I received word that two court observers were being “temporarily detained” by US Marshals.

So I went back to the courthouse to stand with them until we figured out what was going on. They were released and were still unclear what the issue was. 🧵

I asked “is that a threat?” He said, “no, I’m just letting you know.”

Are these men ICE? CPB? Gang members? Paid thugs? Who knows. But I do consider his action a threat. 🧵

On Tuesday, I was at Immigration Court in my clergy collar. The plainclothes agent on the left got in my face with his phone and snapped a photo I said, “would you like to know my name?” He responded, “no we’ve got facial recognition. We’ve got your name and address.” 🧵
