Belated #sblaar25 post: I had the privilege of reviewing this wonderful book by @jeremiahcoogan.bsky.social, @candidamoss.bsky.social, and Joseph Howley at this year’s conference. It was a pleasure to read and you should definitely check it out!
Nerding out over the @aarweb.bsky.social repository of annual meeting program books going back to 1938 (still the National Association of Biblical Instructors at the time). Amazing resource for studying the history of the field. #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25

More photos from the Qumran Session dinner. Many thanks to Angela Kim Harkins for organizing a wonderful evening together! #aarsbl25 #sblaar25
That's another ETS and AAR/SBL wrapped! A huge thank you to all our supporters and readers who returned to our booth this year, it was great to see you. To all those new acquaintances, welcome! See you all in Denver in November 2026 👋

How would you handle this situation? I have my first article coming out soon (Dec/Jan) in academic volume, a very detailed and long paper, I put so much work into it, sent the first proofs corrections in July, no acknowledgment from publisher, saw my editor at #sblaar25, he’s had no response either.
Some final #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25 photos. (American Academy of Religion / Society of Biblical Literature) in Boston. Had a great time, and also glad to be home! Thanks to all who stopped by the @litpress.bsky.social booth!
I did not take as many pictures at #sblaar25 as I have in the past, but it was still a great conference. Love getting to hear exciting new ideas and meet up with friends (new and old). See you next year in…Denver? I think?
⚡️Today is the very last chance to visit our booth at SBL #sblaar25 and buy books at a special event discount! Also if the title you want is sold out you can still place an order at the booth and get an extra event discount along with free delivery.
Stop by to say hi or bye!👋
Possible #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25 first: Cara Rock-Singer on the Re-Inherit the Wind panel, in character as Clarence Darrow.
A glimpse of our publishing team you can meet at #sblaar25 this year! Thankful for the opportunity to introduce a wide range of rigorous, biblically faithful resources from the global theological community and to catch up with Langham authors and friends. See you around!
Another terrific #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25 moment from Saturday: Listening to my grad school friends Lauren McCormick and Yohan Yoo fete-ing our brilliant teacher Jim Watts on the occasion of his (pending) retirement from the Department of Religion at Syracuse!
#AARSBL25 / #SBLAAR25 friends at the conference, I’ll be presenting this afternoon on Barth’s reception of Schleiermacher’s social ethics!
#sblaar25 is also always a chance to listen to sessions outside of one's own research. So I'm sitting in on the SBL bible and pop culture section now, on a round of papers on "Memes and Games".
Sometimes I wonder if the overwhelming scale of #SBLAAR25 is worth it. But then I go to a panel on a topic tangential to my work but w/presenters who are just good thinkers & writers & question-askers, head back to my room, and bang out 750 words for a paper I'd been struggling with for weeks.
Terrific session on the intersection of science & religion studies with eugenics at #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25! Here's Suus van Geuns talking about eugenic forms of argument in the manosphere.
We are having way too much fun at the @litpress.bsky.social space at the Society of Biblical Literature / American Academy of Religion! #sblaar25 #aarsbl25
A recent release you might want to check out if you’re interested in Dietrich Bonhoeffer and Edith Stein's lives, theology, and witness — now 40% off exclusively at SBL #sblaar25
Had loads of fun at my first paper on The Chosen today. One more tomorrow at 9am, on The Chosen fanfic (slashfic) that imagine sexual relationships between the disciples. Thanks to @siobhanjolley.bsky.social for the HQ action pic! #aarsbl2025 #sblaar25
Thank you to the Reverend Dr. Sarah Jobe for her field-making ethnography on prisons and prison chaplaincy and to Ryan Schellenberg and friends at Chaplaincy Innovation Lab for gathering such an incredibly talented panel, with Drs. Jerusha Neal, Shelly Rambo, and Jason Evans. #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25
Pro tip: The Marriott pens are weirdly good. If you like a clicky ballpoint, I recommend them!
(The Sheraton ones are just ok.)

Mirror selfie of myself. Wearing a red skirt, lightblue shirt and black blazer - and a greenbay packers loop scarf around my neck.
#ootd for day 2 of #sblaar25.
Please note the Greenbay Packers scarf! It is GameDay! #gopackgo
Someone *please* post a photo of the Michael Heiser booth from yesterday. I went to investigate it this morning and it's gone #SBLAAR25
Thanks to everyone who stopped by the @litpress.bsky.social booth for Day 1 of #SBLAAR25 #AARSBL25! Looking forward to more gatherings today!
#sblaar25 is halfway over and I’m just getting around to posting. There’s so much to see and do! Friday night kicked off with a great workshop on producing public scholarship with @drleahpayne.bsky.social @swajdan.bsky.social and @bradleyonishi.bsky.social
Also, be sure to try our game and get a chance to win a free book of your choice! #sblaar25
