It was great running into author Tim Hartman at the #AARSBL25 meeting! His book THEOLOGY AFTER COLONIZATION, uses a #Comparative approach to examine two theologians, one from #Europe and one from #Africa. #KwameBediako #KarlBarth #Theology

Still nerding out over past #AARSBL25 program books. The program units were listed in full in a roster early in the books. Great tool to watch program units flicker in and out of existence. Many of them oriented around individual figures, some still with us (Schleirmacher, Augustine, Tillich) -->
Nerding out over the @aarweb.bsky.social repository of annual meeting program books going back to 1938 (still the National Association of Biblical Instructors at the time). Amazing resource for studying the history of the field. #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25

I learned this at one of the trauma panels at #aarsbl25 and yes, I completely agree. I don't have this, and it's something I have to think about as I move forward with my career. I have lots of casual friends but no one close.
I enjoyed exploring Boston yesterday, especially the relevant (unnervingly so) exhibit 'Revolution: 250 years of Art and Activism in Boston' in the Public Library. Definitely doesn't pull any punches. The library itself (old & new) is one of the most impressive public spaces I've visited. #aarsbl25

Really enjoyed myself at #aarsbl25 this year. It didn't start terribly well when I was detained in the airport for a few hours (an error -- not mine!), but Boston more than made up for it. A privilege to present in the Acts and the Exile (Forced Migrations) in Biblical Literature Sections.
Belated but here we are. #AARSBL25 was a blast. Attended wonderful panels, met old friends and made new.
As my first time in Boston, it also marks my discovery of Brattle Bookshop, which means I bought more books from the city than from the conference. Another first!
Me holding my edited collection “Feminist Trauma Theologies.” I have short, shoulder length dark brown hair and am wearing a long grey wool coat.
Written details of a panel I was on: Hanna Reichel presiding, panelist’s Kelly Brown Douglas, Ian McFarland, Katie Cross, Judith Wolfe

Just back from #aarsbl25! So many highlights, but loved being part of a panel on trauma theology (with hopes of a future unit) and another on resurrection hope, + seeing old friends and meeting new ones. Thanks Boston, you were great (especially your Irish bars!) ☘️
The highlight of my SBL is always my PhD supervision meetings with my doktorvater and friend, Matthew Novenson. His brilliance and scholarly acumen are only matched by his kindness and generosity. If you know him, you know why I’m thankful for such a mensch. #aarsbl25

Back to work, since my bad conscience has caught up with me after meeting @mbrandonmassey.bsky.social for lunch at #aarsbl25
The article rewrite I still owe you will eventually find its way to you. I promise 😅 - not a bad work setup in my American sister's basement though.

sent out 100 emails during #aarsbl25 to invite review roundtables on recently published amazing books. receiving emails back after the conference = harvest time, the happiest time for a review editor.

Some final #AARSBL25 #SBLAAR25 photos. (American Academy of Religion / Society of Biblical Literature) in Boston. Had a great time, and also glad to be home! Thanks to all who stopped by the @litpress.bsky.social booth!
I was much more disciplined this year at SBL and stuck to only purchasing the books on my list. My pocketbook is thanking me right now. These are the elect that made the cut. #aarsbl25
When I took this picture someone in the room said “How many scholars does it take to start a PowerPoint?” #aarsbl25
