Discussions on the utility of beta-blockers in post-MI patients 'been ongoing for the last 50 years. Early trials documented survival benefits for MI patients, but the entire therapeutic landscape has undergone fundamental changes based on revascularization strategies and post-infarction prevention.
A new study shows that while ischemic heart disease mortality has declined across Europe, progress is slower for women. In many countries, women still face higher mortality largely due to modifiable risk factors.
Prevention must recognize sex & gender.
