Book cover of The Stonebound Heir shows the silhouette of an Indian chhatri and two small figures with a large golden moon rising behind as well as a small reddish moon in the sky.

Soo true. And dem leaders write off almost every candidate who tries to run in rural areas covering thousands of square miles. They've got no strategy in more than half the country!

Here you go. Whenever I feel brain dead or my eyes can't take a computer screen any longer, I write longhand. It usually gets me over writing humps. #writingcommunity #snippetshare #writingprompt

Pile on the trouble and danger. The more the better! Good luck with your series.

In 2018, I sold twenty copies of "A Sheriff in Nevada" and thought I was on the path to writing stardom. Oh well.

In the eight years since, the book has sold over 1200 copies. Not Stephen King territory, but a reminder:

We play the long game in the #writing business.

SPFBO Review: The Stonebound Heir by L.A.ย Barnitz Moving along with my SPFBO books - it's time for the longest of my slushy pile! Fourteen-year-old Sid Sol knows nothing about his origins but believes himself destined for better things than living in an isolated cabin with a giant and a girl whose strange appearance causes the locals to shun them. His fellow orphan, sixteen-year-old Lingli Tabaan, only wants a home where she will be safe from those convinced she's from the otherworld.

This review brought to you by my putting down Pokopia for 5 minutes (sorry not sorry >.>) #SPFBO #SPFBOXI

Hi Bee, I'd love to see some character art, but I have very little money for such things so I'm not sure it's worth your time.

and argues with Sid a lot. They are separated early in the story but Lingli finally catches up to Sid and they both serve in the palace of a powerful maharani. Sid's fortunes rise while Li's life becomes more difficult. The story examines the price of loyalty, love and forgiveness.

Sid is like many 14-year-old boys -- overly confident and sure he knows what's best, and eager to find glory in some form. Lingli's strange appearance has made others wary of her if not outright hostile. She's depressed after a traumatic event preceding the story. She's also bossy 1/2

Why are you curious? It's not because your a book marketer, is it? I hope not.

Books 2 and 3 continue to follow many of the characters in book 1, as alliances break, allies betray one another and worst of all, the planet itself is experiencing severe disturbances that may be caused by the otherworld. The themes of the books are loyalty, courage, faith and finding one's home.

The story began in book 1 following two orphans who serve a mercurial maharani who's planning for her wedding and a strategic alliance between realms. The loyalty between the two teenaged orphans, Sid Sol and Lingli Tabaan, is severely tested as one's fortunes rise as the other's fall. 1/2

Thank you for asking, Bee. I'm working on books 2 & 3 of The Cursed Cycles series & madly checking #SPFBO sites every 15 minutes to see how book 1 The Stonebound Heir is doing in the contest. Check it out if you like fantasy that's about friendships, betrayals & tests of loyalty. #readingcommunity

The Zon's down? What a shame. If you buy a book from a local bookstore or, better yet, from the author's online store, I promise you Bezos will not miss the lost revenue. #amazoncrash #readingcommunity #indieauthor #writingcommunity

So in the meantime, check your local bookstore or search the author's name/book title & see if the author has an online store you could purchase the book from. I promise you that if you buy a book from a local store, or better yet, from the author, Bezos will not miss the revenue. #readingcommunity

MO Congressional District 8: 18,000 plus sq miles. Poor. Poor health profiles. Few economic opps. My brother- Frank Barnitz @nobullbarnitz.bsky.social - really doesn't care which party you voted for in the past. He's running for those who dare to ask for a better future.

Jesse Jackson 'I Am Somebody' on Sesame Street YouTube video by Headline USA

I shook Jesse's hand after a packed event at MU in 1984. He was a candidate in the Democratic primary & he lit the hall with his positive aspirations for what America could become. It's gone to hell, but he wouldn't give up on this country & we shouldn't either.

The problem is, the hype of AI is always so clearly manufactured. Itโ€™s sold as essential but mysteriously so โ€” rarely is it portrayed as making life better; itโ€™s sold as doing things WE want to keep doing. We want it to inventory our fridge and detect cancer, not make music and replace us at work.

Trying to figure out the best way to gift a free copy of one of my ebooks to folks who sign up for my newsletter. Any suggestions? Is pushing for newsletter sign-ups even worth it in your opinion?

SPFBO XI - The First Update Speculative fiction book reviews.

Just found an intriguing take on Pilgrim by Mitchell Lรผthi among the reviews at Fantasy Book Critic. It's one of the #SPFBOXI competing novels this year. This existential & theological horror fantasy set in the 12th century sounds right up my alley! #BookSky๐Ÿ’™๐Ÿ“š #ReadingCommunity
