I just think the majority of the people have tuned out. They have been conditioned to not know what to believe. In any other timeline, that threat would've been a stop the world moment. Now, it's just a other day and most don't know how close we were/are to the edge.

There are now tolls, less production capacity, no sanctions on their oil, higher oil prices for the foreseeable future, they still have basically the same regime, they still have uranium and another generation of Iranians has more reason to dislike the West.
