A Dreamcast, monitor, and speakers set up on a table, running my Dream Disc entry Alien Taxi.
Showed Alien Taxi at @tokyoindies.com tonight.
Spreading the word of Dream Disc to anyone who'll listen!
It's been cool following his process! Also his work ethic is crazy lol
Please do, you have my support! 🙌
Top 5 games selling right now on Steam with Road To Vostok being number one.
Screenshot form the game Road To Vostok. FPS view of the player character holding an assault rifle, looking into the woods over a set of train tracks. There is an old tractor and a sign stating that the public road ends here.
A CRT monitor playing the game Road To Vostok.
Happy to see a game developed in my hometown top the Steam charts. Set in Finland too, doesn't get more local than that! Looks fittingly post apocalyptic, and beautiful on a CRT. @roadtovostok.bsky.social
All this feels like a good idea and i'd love to see ones developed by even smaller teams, tho i get it that the studios wanna keep a certain level of (visual) quality. Releasing something that looks like eg. Lethal Company is a hard pill to swallow even if it might work out well in the end.
I wish big game companies would hire indies to make small & cheap games based on their big IPs. Local example comes to mind: horror coop set in the Oldest House from Remedy's Control. Wow that would own...
Inspired by this post i read the book in one sitting. So captivating was the description of this bygone era. Props to Jordan Mechner for not editing his past self even when at times he comes across v annoying lol, i couldn’t do that.
Fishing minigame this and that but where are all the indie games with phishing minigames in them?
How about crawling around ventilation shafts as a dog?

Praise to Karras... and the builder.
trying to put into words of my increasing kind of alienation from the gradually coalescing Weird Game Aesthetic from Critical Reflex published-games and the Haunted PS1 ilk is it's really increasingly hard to tell if something is actually good or worthwhile or not based on vibes alone.

The real enemy of games in the attention war? Sleeping. People spend 1/3 of their life asleep when they should be Gaming.
Happens when you hug too many trees!🤗 (i’m fixing this in the update heh)
The game in question: tatsoni.itch.io/merge-forest
Free version of the full game is going to have those terrible adverts in it.
Fake in-game ad for a mobile puzzle game about a fur farm. The ad shows a overweight animal farmed for its fur and a text promising a fun and furry puzzle game for the whole family.
Making fake mobile game ads for my match three game and they are turning out too cursed.
Too bad i don't know enough DS owners these days to test the multiplayer, sounds nice!
The apple collector is cute, they look like モラン from ムーミン!
Tetris DS is one i’ve been enjoying a lot too! I’ve had to cut back tho, after a few games i start to see those blocks everywhere.
Played the GBA version on my DS and wow, it’s great!
Screenshot from the great immersive sim game Weird West. In the picture pigs are seen chilling in hay piles. They know what's up.
Every once in a while i think about these pigs in Weird West that you made sleep in the hay. They always bring a smile to my face!
Turns out i’m doing GDC too

Nintendo's way of senior staff working with new hires (passing down the legacy and values) and feeling the need to innovate were my key takeaways from Super Nintendo.
It's always nice when a book really sparks your imagination and makes you want to learn more!
The book referenced Ask Iwata so that was my next stop. Iwata's thoughts are humane and inspiring. His way of working was something i wish to reach. First time some of these texts were translated i believe, but you can find his "Iwata Asks" series in English iwataasks.nintendo.com
I want to read Yokoi's "Yokoi Gunpei Game House" but i have to learn _a lot_ of Japanese before that happens lmao
Anyway, perhaps his "Lateral Thinking with Seasoned Technology" is something we all need to do more in the future.
