Just another Haulbowline sunrise … a beautiful morning earlier today
Posts by Ann Bruen
Some stunning cloud inversions over Carlingford Lough this morning (20th April) with the peaks of the Mourne and Cooley Mountains & Slieve Gullion almost looking like islands in the sky. Taken from the Turf Mountain above Omeath.

Islands in the sky
The Mourne, Cooley, and Gullion peaks peeping through the clouds this morning as Carlingford Lough vanished under a blanket of fog. A ‘Dawning of the Day’ to remember.

Sunrise colours and the glow of street lamps while standing on Charles Bridge, Prague
📍Charles Bridge, Prague
🗓️ 16th April, 5:55am
To beat the crowds at one of Prague’s most iconic landmarks, a sunrise excursion was the only way to go. Even at dawn, the bridge had a few early birds, but the reward was a lovely sunrise vista while the street lamps were still on
Reflections not reactions 🙈
Stunning cloud reactions from Victoria Lock, Co. Armagh looking over Newry Canal and River and featuring Slieve Foye, Co. Louth. A lovely memory from this day 2022.
Thanks for sharing Cathy and for the beautiful description

You’re welcome Éibhear
A beautiful Dublin evening. May need a click for full view.
If you’ve got it flaunt it 🤣
Fun fact: That shimmer is called "train-rattling." They usually save this move for when there's a lady nearby (which there was!).
The lady was not for wooing … at least not on this occasion. A peacock fanning and shaking his train while the peahen remains unimpressed in the background.

A sunrise to remember: Burrow Beach, Howth Peninsula exactly 5 years ago today.
That vivid pink sun was the effect Saharan dust clouds drifting over the coast. Amazing to witness.

📍Benbulben Forest Walk, Co. Sligo
🎹 Éamonn An Chnoic
The original plan had been to climb Benbulben, but the weather had other ideas. Even down on the forest trail, the wind was powerful - definitely wouldn’t have liked to face those gusts on the summit! 💨

This day last year - moonset (97.4%) over the sleepers at Gyles Quay, Co. Louth as the moon turned from orange to red before it faded behind some low lying cloud.

You’re very welcome.
Standing in Awe
A silhouette of a man standing by Howth Lighthouse as the sun aligns with the lantern gallery, captured from the vantage point of Claremont Beach. A beautiful morning from one year ago today.

Leading lines to Ireland’s Eye at sunrise. Taken from Burrow Beach on the Howth Peninsula, Dublin a year ago today.

This was one of the nicest sunrises from Burrow/Claremont that I’ve witnessed - captured exactly 1 year ago today. I love how the silhouette of the man stands in awe as the sunrise aligns with the top of Howth Lighthouse. Playing ‘The Water is Wide’ on the 🎹 to match the mood.
More beautiful sunrise memories - this time from Skerries, Co. Dublin on this day last year as the sun rose over Rockabill. Rockabill is a pair of small granite islands situated approximately 6 km east-northeast of Skerries in County Dublin.

This was the stunning sunset on display at Gyles Quay on this day last year. Amazing vibrant colours with the help of some Saharan Dust. So beautiful to see.
And on the 🎹 I’m playing ‘Beautiful Dreamer’ (by Stephen Foster)

A wonderful sight this morning last year - watching a beautiful Omega sunrise from Ballagan shore looking towards Haulbowline Lighthouse. Playing ‘Love’s Old Sweet Song’.
What an incredible day for sunrise and sunset on the Cooley Peninsula this day last year! It was amazing watching the changing colours and shapes - a fabulous ‘Omega’ sunrise over Carlingford Lough and some stunning colours (with a little help from some Saharan Dust) for sunset at Gyles Quay.
