Substack is an e-newsletter platform. As someone who considered becoming a journalist, while in college in the late 1980s, I believe that journalism is collapsing because the large media companies have become biased entertainment news chains, whose investors are chasing the mighty dollar.

It's highly suspicious if the people who live in the White House and Number One Observatory Circle would have been elected if it weren't for the meddling of Peter Thiel and Alex Karp. We have been controlled by oligarchs from day one of this administration.
Gorgeous! My peonies have tiny buds.
GOOD NEWS! Researchers have made a HUGE breakthrough towards a UNIVERSAL antiviral. By targeting sugar molecules found on the surface of many viruses that SHARE structural similarities, they identified FOUR compounds that successfully BLOCKED infections from SEVEN different viruses.
Bluesky is vibing with vibe code today. Guess I'll go do something else.
Print is definitely in demand with young adults, but many want nothing to do with politically-biased news organizations, or tabloids. The generation that is making books popular again experienced online bullying. Significant changes would have to be made before printed "news" makes a comeback.
True. Zoomer parent here. Appreciation for paper books, refusal to use social media, and a belief that AI will bust like the dot-com bubble is frequently discussed. Bookstore hopping is also a favorite pastime. My STEM kids grew up to be young adults who don't trust technology.
I don't have a Xitter account, but I definitely fact check what was said, and sometimes that means watching that person's speech on X.
You can decide for yourself if that's what he said. x.com/Acyn/status/...
Glad I stopped supporting L.L. Bean long ago.
I'm happy that it landed in my flower bed that has purple flowering plants, with purple/pink rose bushes. This happy little freebie knew how to color coordinate itself. Lol
I will wait for it to go to seed then, assuming Lunaria is not a weed.
Maybe it is Lunaria annua (Honesty, or Money Plant). Not certain.
From Wikipedia: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lunaria...
A small self-seeded plant with purple four-petaled flowers blooming on a thin stem. It has green leaves at the base. It is growing through a purple-toned Heather plant. There are purple tulips blooming in the background.
๐ฑ It's cool and rainy today, but the garden is beautiful. Does anyone know what this freebie plant with purple flowers is? Is it a weed? #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b
No, that is not legal or fair use. That is theft.
If you are referring to buying an item with an image on it, or music, etc, and feeding that into an AI generator, you are, in fact, stealing. You purchased a product to use, and not rights to the creation. Even items that are released with a creative commons license have rules about use.
I don't understand how something that you own relates to art, writing, music, celebrity identities, etc. that were been stolen by AI. AI generates from works and personas that were stolen, and now people use AI so they can pretend to create something that they simply asked AI to generate.
I was in my High School art class, painting an illustration of the Space Shuttle Challenger for a "Larger than Life" art contest, when the Challenger incident happened. I couldn't finish the painting. Fortunately, my High School Art teacher understood. I'm grateful for the safe return of this crew.
They seem to be ok with the fact that an organized theft ring got away with a massive crime. They're happy someone else stole the works so they can capitalize on the stolen works.
Sweet little purple, bright yellow, and light yellow viola blooms growing in a clump in front of a small shrub. I didn't plant them. They are self-seeded.
๐ฑ The cost of gas is ridiculous, but these sweet little faces are now free for me. I could probably spend two or three days digging up self-seeded violas and not get them all moved into locations where I want them. I'm working on clearing the walkways first. #bloomscrolling #garden #Zone8b
That's a cute photo.
The past few days of working in the garden have felt wonderful. So nice to have the sun shining.
I hope that your silence about the elected felon's threat that a "whole civilization will die tonight" is because you are taking action to remove that man from office.
We appreciate NASA's mission, but a whole civilization depends on you taking appropriate measures to contain a crisis.
And what are you doing about it? We elected you to take action against the insanity, not just condemn the elected felon's actions on Social Media.
A white and yellow daffodil lit from behind by the warming sun. The daffodils are blooming in a miniature raised bed along with some pink and white tulips.
๐ฑ Some days require more #bloomscrolling. I am so grateful for my #flowers. #garden #Zone8b
Pink and white tulips bloom in the warm sunshine.
๐ฑ It's a beautiful day to soak up the sun. #bloomscrolling #flowers #garden #Zone8b
If the bulbs don't come back, they will compost into the soil and provide nutrients back to the soil. No need to remove.
I, also, would assume no flowers would be a nutritional deficiency, possibly caused by the leaves being removed too soon, before the bulb can regenerate.
I'm in Western WA, too, Zone 8b. I leave my tulips in the ground and they come back. Our soil has a bit of a sandy texture, it drains well and the bulbs don't rot in the ground. I also deadhead the flower, but not the stem, after the bloom fades and allow the foliage to die back.
We are warm this year and our tulips are blooming early. Recently watched a news report that tulips might be near the end of the bloom cycle during the annual tulip festival.
A stand of purple tulips with dark green leaves in a garden bed. The flowers are surrounded by mulch. A dwarf boxwood and metal arch are barely visible in the background.
๐ฑ I hope these tulips bring a smile to your face. #bloomscrolling #flowers #garden #Zone8b
All of them, and then I end up with too many seedlings to keep up with.
