Pixelart illustration of a nuclear bomb exploding over a city as an instagram reaction bar with an angry emoji overlays it. The scene is heavily distorted with buildings at the base of the explosion being warped and torn apart. The colours are bright orangey browns, except for the instagram reaction bar which purposefully sticks out against the horrific scene behind it.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #DucksOutOfWater, so here's a recent encounter with some Wood Ducks. If you're not familiar with them, they frequently spend time in trees when not rearing their young or nesting.

This goes for all tech right now. I couldn't even buy a new cord for my headphones or anything. No one sends stuff here anymore 💀

Good news: I CAN still use the PC, I just need to place a wooden panel beside it. I probably won't be able to buy a new glass panel because no one is shipping to Australia due to the current crisis. It'll probably be like this for years before I can get a replacement but as long as it's covered.

There's probably not much the Australian govt can do about these American companies. US govt only cares about censoring gay people at the best of times. There needs to be a good proper push back in America too, but most of it is coming from a hyper conservative homophobic angle. It's bleak

Feel like the only way is repeated pushback by parents at this point. The buck has always stopped at the websites in my eyes, they didn't care when I was a minor and they don't care now. You have to keep pushing them to care.

I really, really need the help. I hate to beg, I do. But I’ve been breaking down almost daily due to how much stress I’m under. I’ve been thinking of taking a loan out, but I feel like it’d be more of a pain. I don’t qualify for the care credits or scratch pay. Reposting helps. A lot.

Moon Child began life as an Amiga AGA title before shifting to PC, where it finally saw release in 1997. A fascinating glimpse into a project caught between two eras. More here:

I feel like a lot of my pencil sketches are too low quality to be put on patreon. #doodles

The people in my personal life haven't had much luck with dating apps either. It's not a you problem by any means, in general it seems hard to find people on these types of apps.

I kinda want to do an experiment where I give ants or termites random materials to see what they can make out of it.

Photo of a large mound of graphite on display at a rock collection. The description below the mound reads "Before World War 1, Graphite was mined at nearby Cape Upstart and carried on pack horses. One of the loads split and was used by White Ants (Termites) to build a nest. This is probably the only White Ant nest in the World made of Graphite"

econ 101 guy: capitalism isn't perfect but it's the only system that ever worked! without incentive there's no innovation!

capitalists: we're deliberately ending human civilization to protect the fossil fuel industry. we also hope to ban the research and development of competing energy technologies

If oil prices remain at current levels for the next 12 months, the Canadian oil industry is on track to make $90bn in profits, which is $60bn more than it would have earned without the war...Applying 15% rate on excess profits of oil industry could generate $9 billion over the next 12 months. ⬇️

In a survey of over 3000 men 18-34, 95.1% admitted to having used coercive tactics to get a woman to have sex with them.

We keep not really facing these results as a society because they’re an absolute nightmare.
