A bit late to the #northernlights party but southern shorelines of Ireland see this display only rarely.
Last night was exceptional.

All depends on whether you expect a ‘links’ experience, Howard. Because Old Head is not that.

It may cause some 'debate' on its design quality but, whether you like it or not, Old Head offers a cliff-top, ocean-roaring experience that no other course can match.

Yea, ‘short’ is not the word for the 4th!

That was about 9pm on Co Sligo’s 18th fairway.

The par-3s on the Powerscourt West course are one of many stand-out features - the greens being the biggest - so here’s the first par-3 you’ll encounter: the 2nd.
Mind the water 💦

The clubhouse at Bunclody Golf Club is one of only two thatched clubhouses in Ireland.

Just one more ingredient in the wonder of Irish golf

One of Ireland’s lesser known parklands is Macreddin Golf Club, particularly significant as it was Paul McGinley’s first design.
The course roves over two sides of a gorse- and pine-drenched valley.

14th hole at Marianna Butte Golf Course in Loveland, CO.

14th hole at Marianna Butte Golf Course in Loveland, CO.

For places I've played a lot, I still miss playing the 14th at Marianna Butte Golf Course in Loveland, CO. A very fun public course. (photo mine). Colorado provided a lot of opportunities for downhill (and uphill) holes.

I love short downhill par-3s. This would be my most memorable location: Pebble Beach's 7th (not my photo)

A popular #golf question seems to be: what is your favourite par-3?

So, show us a picture of your favourite short hole and tell us where it is.

Mine is the 14th on @carnegolflinks.bsky.social's Wild Atlantic Dunes course.

Very true. One of the best.

Laytown & Bettystown had a strong out and back rooting, but that was changed due to some danger points a few years ago.
The new bunkering at Royal Dublin is very good , IMO

Anyone played this links? Thoughts?

It was the first links on the island of Ireland.
