I wish you every success with the fundraiser, Andrew. I was so sorry to read of Sophie’s passing- I didn’t know what you had gone through when we worked together -I hope the share helps, but sadly I don’t have as many followers here as I had on Twitter/X. Best wishes to you and your family.

Just £137 short of raising £6,000 to fund charity events for Little Hearts Matter. Can anyone help by spreading the word here on Bluesky?

👀👇 To see the ceremonial displays of Roman cavalry units based at the Trimontium fort at Newstead must have been an amazing sight for all to see. We’ve magnificent heritage on our doorstep & it’s a reminder of the amazing finds on display at Trimontium Trust in Melrose & Royal Museum in Edinburgh.
NEW: Green jobs in Scotland increased by 7,500 over the past year, rising to a record high of 33,500
We welcome strong progress in areas like energy efficiency and low carbon vehicles, but some areas of concern remain 🧵
An interesting read. Solar farms provide habitats for endangered species that are better than the surrounding farmland.
For example, a solar farm in Germany had more than three times more larks than nearby fields being farmed.

Great to see such progress on the rate of restoration of peatland to more than 14,000 Hectares per annum. Good bit to go to hit the 2030 target, but heading in right direction and wonderful news for carbon sequestration & biodiversity that 90,000 Hectares have been restored so far. Well done! 👏 😀
Promising news for the #climate! 🌍
A report by @fraserofallander.org shows Scotland's #renewable energy sector supported 47,000 jobs & brought in £15.5bn to the economy in 2022.
A shift from #FossilFuels can help people, the economy & our planet. 👏

🌟Good morning. Here’s today’s content from #BrandScotland showcasing Scotland as a fantastic place to live, work, invest, study, and visit. Please share. 🏴🌍
Add in the impact of the growing second hand market (I drive such a vehicle myself - and enjoy it enormously 😀👍) and the impact is even more dramatic. No looking back, as far as I am concerned.
What an awful, needless waste of lives - imagine the potential of those 45 men and what good they might have achieved in life had they lived and not instead been sacrificed on the altar of the power hungry monarchs of the day. Cousins playing deadly power games with real people, not toy soldiers. 😡
Two volunteers from ELREC (Edinburgh & Lothians Regional Equality Council) introducing oysters into the Firth of Forth from the side of the boat. They both have happy expressions as they gently throw the oysters in the water. The oysters can be seen in mid air. Overlapping text reads, '40,000 oysters have now been introduced into the Firth of Forth to restore marine habitats!'.
A European flat oyster placed against teal rope. The photo has bright colours and contrasts, emphasising the scaly detail and pear shape of the oyster. Overlapping text reads, 'Oysters boost biodiversity by creating habitats for a wide range of marine life.'
Two volunteers from ELREC (Edinburgh & Lothians Regional Equality Council). Both are wearing red and orange waterproof clothing and are smiling towards the camera as they hold handfuls of European flat oysters. Overlapping text reads, 'None of this would be possible without the support of community groups and volunteers.'
A close-up photo showing a hand with a yellow glove gently throwing one European flat oyster into the Firth of Forth. The oyster is in mid air. Overlapping text reads, 'Let’s hope the oysters go ‘Forth’ and multiple!'
A sea-rious success for marine restoration. 🦪
With help from volunteers, #RestorationForth has deployed 10,000 more European flat oysters into the Forth - now over 40,000 in total!
Oysters are true power players in the fight against biodiversity loss, creating thriving habitats for marine life. 💙
#EuropeDay is now an annual reminder of what we have lost because of a Brexit that I & most Scots did not vote for. I dearly wish my home, Scotland🏴, (& the UK) was still part of the EU 🇪🇺. Hopefully, one day we will rejoin🇪🇺 as I firmly agree/believe the EU has been a force for good & for peace.

(1/3) It needs repeating: in 1994, Ukraine was persuaded to give up its nuclear weapons to Russia in return for the US, the UK, and Russia guaranteeing Ukraine’s sovereignty, security, and territorial integrity.
👀👇 The World we are now in. 😢
That’s fantastic! Congratulations to both you, Liz and to Judith and Paul. Days like these are very much the best of days. Best wishes to all and I hope Rua has a wonderful and healthy life ahead of him. 🥂🍾
I certainly notice the difference since I was growing up
in the 1970s& 1980s. I think my son’s generation have had nothing like the baseline numbers of butterflies, bees or dragonflies as when I was a lad. When I saw a dragonfly in my garden 2 years back it was first I or my guest had seen in years.
We know he does not speak for all Americans, Maria. Your country remains a great nation of the World in so many ways and has done much that is good, too. However I and many others are saddened to face a period where 🇺🇸’s usual role as ‘leader of the free World’ is very much suspended.
I believe most Americans will see the behaviour of Trump & Vance as a disgraceful way to treat a heroic country🇺🇦 and its leader. I just hope European nations & all true democracies step up for Ukraine to offer € & help on top of warm words. We now know the US can abandon its friends at drop of a 🧢.
"History will remember this day— when an American President and Vice President abandoned all we stand for."
Says it all.
I have covered presidential politics for 40 years. This was the most juvenile display by a President and Vice President I have ever seen. Other presidents treated their enemies with more respect. This is a low point and a dark day for the US. Totally embarrassing.
Pass it on.
