At ONE Centre this Saturday, Gateshead NHS will be there for an Inclusive Women’s Health Drop-In Day.
It’s a free, friendly and confidential drop-in day for women and anyone who would like support with women’s health, including anyone who may not usually access services or feel unsure where to go.
We are seeing rising lesbophobia, homophobia, biphobia and transphobia driven by a hateful minority, yet Lesbian Visibility Week remains a beacon of solidarity.
We are here, we have always been here, and we will always be here!
Solidarity to my LBQT sisters
The events in Parliament have become a cornerstone in celebrating, bisexual and gay women MPs in history - and an important opportunity to remind ourselves that our feminism has to be intersectional.
As we celebrate #LVW26 I have been reflecting on my speech from last years debate on Lesbian Visibility Week👇
Founded in 1990 by my good friend Linda Riley, LVW has been observed annually in the UK since 2019.
Lesbian Visibility week enables us to show solidarity and coordinate action as well as being a powerful moment of visibility, pride and collective strength.

I'm excited to be hosting the Parliamentary reception & to attend the many events with my LGBTQ community, these events showcase our community & provide opportunities to regroup, reconnect and focus on the power of sisterhood, solidarity & uplifting LGBTQIA women & non binary individuals everywhere.
This year’s theme is Health and Wellbeing and we know that LBQT women by health and wellbeing services and our rights are under attack globally.
Happy Lesbian Visibility Week 2026 to my brilliant, diverse and colourful lesbian siblings ❤️🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️
This week I will be doing all I can to celebrate Lesbians, Queer Women and non-binary individuals whilst making sure we highlight the issues that still face our community.
Excellent to see that GB Energy have installed a new solar array at Jarrow Cross CofE Primary School ☀️⚡️
With these new panels, Jarrow Cross could save around £145,000 over the next 30 years, and these savings will enable the school to reinvest directly back into education for our young people 🙌

Unite’s strength has always been its members and it's ability to bring them together standing up for values and rights and those must not be compromised.
I know the deep anger this has caused many unite members and I share their pain and outrage. www.thetimes.com/uk/politics/...
We should meet with those who hold decision making positions to advance our members causes - but of course we should not be giving political legitimacy to parties attempting to sow division and gain power that they will use to pit worker against worker.
You don’t win lasting gains for workers by giving credibility to a party with that agenda. Of course unions must fight for their members in every dispute, but how we do that matters.
As a former Unite rep & Exec Council member, I find reports of secret talks between Unite officials & Nigel Farage’s Reform UK deeply concerning
Reform are no friend of working people - their record is one of attacking trade unions, support for weakening workers’ rights and dividing our communities
Disabled people already face disproportionately high levels of financial hardship, and there is no justification for age discrimination.
We must ensure young disabled people have the financial security necessary for a decent and dignified life.
I've signed my name to a motion calling on Government to reconsider proposals to delay access to the Universal Credit health element for young disabled people under 22.
it is brilliant to see what happens when cis women, whose voices have been co-opted and weaponised against the trans+ community finally get handed the microphone and very loudly say No. Not In My Name.
Thank you to everyone behind this collective driving the important work
I was proud to be one of the first 10 signatures of the @nionwomen.bsky.social petition that has now reached 100,000.
Whilst the Daily Mail and others continue to spew hate out on their front pages and other hate groups continue to try and push discriminatory policies that harm all women -

Ive signed my name to a motion to reject the govts new 'cumulative disruption' protest-curbing powers.
I am slipped as Im away on other Parliamentary business so my vote will not be recorded, but I want to make absolutely clear I fully oppose any attempt to undermine the democratic right to protest
In Parliament today MPs will be voting on a Bill to give police unprecedented powers to ban recurring protests - this is something I absolutely oppose.
The right to protest is not a privilege, it is a fundamental freedom of democracy -
Places will be limited, so please register your interest as soon as possible. Confirmation of dates and times will be sent to attendees closer to the time.
