Do you happen to know if this art was created prior to the development of A Link to the Past?
A black and white photo of the core dev tream for A Link to the Past, with Kensuke Tanabe circled in read. The photo is from the Shogakukan guide to Trifoce of the Gods. This scan is courtesy of GlitterBerri, who runs a game translation website.
Kensuke Tanabe announced that he is retiring in an interview today!
He was a script writer who worked on A Link to the Past and Link's Awakening, so let's talk a little bit about him and his career.

Today I'm having a deeper look into Time Travel in #Zelda specifically comparing Ocarina of Time and Oracle of Ages, and seeing which game did it best

Black and white line sketches that are off model but interesting in a Katsuya Terada artbook that's a collection of his sketches.
Here's a better scan I made, with much less bleed through, of the obvious Link and Impa sketch in Katsuya Terada's Rakuga King 寺田克也ラクガキング (2002) artbook.
It's a collection of 1000 pages of his sketches from over the years. #Zelda #Nintendo #KatsuyaTerada
Looks like the rumors were true!
“Leaked info claims set 77093 will have 1,003 pieces and is planned for March 1, 2026. The exact location remains unknown, but if confirmed, it would be the second official LEGO Zelda set after the Great Deku
Tree (via: BrickTap)”

You might recognize this art from the #Zelda 1 guide, Tips & Tactics, but a few years back the original artist, Sho Kobayashi / こばやし将, posted photos of the originals on twitter @show_kob & I love them because it shows the original art included neon pink: which doesn't usually scan or print well
I voice the brave Korok warrior CALAMO in HYRULE WARRIORS: AGE OF IMPRISONMENT. This character was an absolute joy to play, and it was really cool to get to be a part of a Zelda game. The game is available now on Nintendo Switch 2.
I’ve been working on something new and I can’t wait to share it with you soon ❤️

Partial map of Hyrule from the original Legend of Zelda.
I spent last night cleaning up this map insert from the #zelda 1 packaging & added that art to the Internet Archive downloads here, along with my beat-up copy of the insert for the Japanese 1994 re-release: archive.org/details/game...

Let us know if you try any that you would recommend. I’m always on the hunt for good mobile games but sadly I haven’t had much luck
We have names for the new (old?) sages, and the chamberlain (not pictured) from Age of Imprisonment!
Spoiler alert, they aren’t Ocarina of Time sage names:
• ラナリア — Lanaria (Handmaiden)
• アルディ — Aldy (Gerudo)
• クラフィカ — Clafica (Rito)
• キア — Kia (Zora)
• アーガスタ — Argasta (Goron)
A set of five jade magatama: they’re all shaped roughly like just one half of the taoist yin-yang symbol, with a notch through the head for a string.
A closeup of Ganondorf’s hand holding a Secret Stone
In Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom, a major plot point are “Secret Stones”, which are just straight-up magatama from Japanese legend:

This in-game art is based on a Yōichi Kotabe watercolor that's incorrectly attributed to #Zelda 1 as concept art in Hyrule Historia. It's for the Satellaview. I screen-shotted these from a YT VHS recording, which is the *only* reason these fully colored images exist: www.youtube.com/watch?v=w-79...
The sage Rauru deemed the Master Sword the final key to the Sacred Realm. It is said that the Master Sword was wielded by a hero who traveled between two time periods. However, even Rauru himself believed this was merely a legend. After building the "Temple of Time" as the legend says, Rauru abandoned his physical form and retreated to the sages of the Sacred Realm. The secrets of the Sacred Realm were passed down to the Sheikah tribe for the time to come.

Black and white drawing of Link and Zelda, Zelda has dark hair and adventurer's clothes. Both are holding swords and have pendants on their neck. There is a fairy between them. It's night behind Zelda and day behind Link.
