In my experience that can make it pretty hard for people to examine the presented world critically and there's a lot (including KCD 2) to be critical about.
There're for example issues with anachronistic nationalism ('Germans' vs. 'Czechs'), portrayal of women, rural life & material culture

Well, regarding KCD, considering the politics of its boss (booster of gamer gate, Neonazi bands, trump...) I'd say pretty bad - but I tend to have pretty strict views about things like that.

I'd also caution against KCD because of its claims & veneer of authenticity ⬇️

Yeah, I'd still classify that as a kind of plagiarism, because it basically takes your work and repackages it without proper attribution.
