A photo collage of 3 hand knitted cowls! On the top left is a gray colourwork cowl, with various science themed images in shades of purple, pink and coral. To the right is a blue and cream themed cowl with a rabbit, trees and snowflakes. At the bottom is a shawl shaped cowl, knitted in dark turquoise, with white, yellow, orange and red lace detail. Around the cowls are three hand made ceramic bowls, one has a crystalline glaze, the other a quotation, and the last floral and bird imagery.
So excited to be returning as a guest host for #ShowMeYourKnits Week 90, Cowl week!!🧶✨
Cowls shown are:
- Science Doodle by Jamie Lomax
- Rabbit in moonlit night cowl by Theresa Shizu Tanaka
- Shortcut Cowl by Stephanie Lotven
Thank you @livrunsfast.bsky.social for the chance to host ☺️
Excellent find!
A photograph of one of Schiaparelli’s 1940s evening jackets. This has a pink velvet bodice with black sleeves. The pink is covered with embroidered vegetables and the buttons are silk carrots
My brain is tired so simply feast your eyes on Schiaparelli’s 1941 velvet evening jacket reflecting the times in which she lived. As Frenchwomen were encouraged to grow vegetables during war, so she designed the stitches for a part of the story onto her trademark colour #V&A #FashionHistory 🗃️🪡
Wow, that’s lovely

Same, I wouldn’t want to get my wheels dirty like that. I feel the same about spinning in the grease too.
It did make a great neck pillow before I put on the legs, now they get in the way.
Thank you!
It is so clever, I would have no idea where to begin with designing something like this
It’s fun isn’t it! Your colours look great, I do like the ones with a contrasting shell.
I have been working on this scarf for about a year and a half thanks to long covid fatigue, a few rows here and there until it was done. The next will be chunky handspun wool so maybe it'll only take a month. 😂 But I am so happy with how this turned out!

#showmeyourknits Week 89: cables! 🧶
I’ve been in such a knitting funk lately due to some major life upheaval (everything’s fine, it’s just been a lot), but cables are my jam, so let’s revisit the old favorites. Maybe this will inspire me to work on something new.
Hehehe
This is also what I found with alpaca, washed the fleece twice and was still left with dirty fingers when spinning!
Damn you all really love pill bugs, woke up this morning to >500 notifications
One like this is actually cute. Maybe the real ones just need to evolve to be huge and colourful!
Thank you!
Thanks!
Omg now I’m thinking how thick a yarn I would need to make one that I could use as a foot stool. Maybe with that really thick yarn that’s used for arm knitting 🤔
Knitting the legs was a bit fiddly and repetitive but it was well worth it
Thank you!

Good morning knitters ☀️! We’ve come back round to CABLES & I’ve discovered I don’t have anything new. Happily son just requested new cabled jumper & we’ve settled on the pattern.
Meanwhile enjoy my favourite silly baby hat, Talitha bonnet. They look like pixies in it 🧚♀️🥰! #ShowMeYourKnits week 89 🧶

Shop update tomorrow at noon! I couldn't stop making tree vessels with frogs (and a cicada) on them. Plus one fossil mug that was supposed to be in the last update, but dawdled a little at the kiln. leslielevings.bigcartel.com
Oh, I’m not sure what zauberball looks like but If it’s a slow transition it’ll look similar to mine. These bugs look best in gradients and solids.
Probably, the pattern works for any size yarn, just the bigger the yarn the bigger the bug!
doooo iiiiittttt! It’s fun to make (and fun to have)
Thanks!
