Some professional news:

Zurich’s ascent over the past ~10 years has been incredible. They show what can be accomplished when good institutions and resources meet.

I’m incredibly excited and honored to participate in UZH’s continued success!

The fact that the relative increase of departures of UK nationals is similar to the overall also suggests that this is not primarily a non-doms story. Kudos to the journalists for doing that breakdown, but apparently they didn't let the result affect the narrative of the article.

🚨New working paper🚨 w/ @jeannebomare.bsky.social

We use data leaked from the Isle of Man to understand how well international agreements meant to provide tax authorities with info on foreign accounts actually work

We find that tax authorities probably receive a lot less than they would desire

Has Rachel Reeves given in to the non-doms? Or is it just another win for the attention economy?

Much credulous reporting by the Times, BBC News and others this week that Rachel Reeves has "softened" the non-dom rules due to an "exodus of 10,000 millionaires".

Where's that figure from, then? And is it the real reason for Reeves' amendment?
