🦇 Happy #BatAppreciationDay! Bats matter across the UK and around the world. Bat species play a vital role in ecosystems, from agricultural land to tropical forests. They pollinate plants, disperse seeds and eat insects which damage crops.

Applications for the Living Alongside Bats in Churches Grant close at 10am on 27th April 2026 - this is a small grant aimed at supporting places of worship who are in need of help with their bat roost. To find out more see: www.bats.org.uk/our-work/bui...
🦇🌎A LOT of bats use trees for roosting but there are also many species that use rock outcrops, &cracks in cliffs as places to call home. Not all bat bios are rock climbers! (some are) so we get really excited when skilled climbers get on the bat conservation bandwagon.

Cool root systems!
Glue traps should never be used outdoors or in and around bat roosts. They are very dangerous to bats, other wildlife and even pets, often leading to a cruel death.
If you do find a bat in a sticky trap please follow the advice on our website www.bats.org.uk/advice/help-...
I just think they’re neat 💁♀️
