Oh, meant to also say, come follow me at @leebennett@mastodon.social
Posts by A. Lee Bennett Jr.
In addition, if you currently follow me and we’ve never had any interaction outside of Bsky, please reply with a very basic introduction. I may not have many followers, but several of you are completely unknown to me and possibly just a bot/script. I will eventually remove unknown followers.

I’ll continue following a few friends’ Bsky posts via the Tapestry app and may possibly reply in rare cases. But no new posts of my own as long as Bsky supports the regime.
Inasmuch as Bsky allows, I’ll also be taking steps to limit nonfollower or at least nonlogged-in access to my profile.

Serving notice:
Effective immediately I am suspending posting new content to this platform. While I can’t really object to ICE’s right to create an account here, I can object to Bluesky legitimizing its presence by explicitly verifying the profile.

Selfie photo of me with my newly acquired eyeglasses. At first glance, the frames may appear to many as black, but they are actually a dark blue.

The man's brain is pudding. Why is he still in charge of anything??

…on orders with preauthorized amounts but haven't yet been posted for charging!
I would otherwise have goofed, and I'm not sure I'd have been able to persuade this particular customer to let me re-run their card!

To the developers of the web portal I use for print order submissions and billing…
THANK YOU for having the foresight to program automatic rejection of a command to digitally shred credit card info…

Babylon 5, but there are no Shadows, and it's just religious fanatics, grifters, racists/xenophobes, and psychotic billionaires all the way to Z'ha'dum.
"organized gangs of wine moms us[ing] Antifa tactics" should be a genre
this could be the next heated rivalry
And this is an accurate statement, not an exaggeration. All of the parts of that tweet are not only technically accurate at every level, it is a meaningfully accurate description. Straightforwardly true. And so many would laugh in your face for saying it
ICE is a domestic terrorist organization that has invaded our cities, assaulted immigrants & thrown our neighbors into concentration camps.
ICE executed Renee Nicole Good in broad daylight. Any legislator who doesn’t immediately move to abolish ICE is a traitor who sold out their country to fascism
Republicans are Nazis. It’s a mirror. It’s the same thing.
Republican officials are Nazi officials. Republican leaders are Nazi leaders. Republican propagandists are Nazi propagandists. Republican party members are Nazi party members.

Where the hell are Google and Apple enforcing their app store terms of service on X? Grok doing CSAM should instantly be a removal from the app store. Any other app doing this would be pulled instantly. Journalists should be asking for comment from these companies.
Free lunch courtesy of @chickfila.bsky.social rewards: (1) sufficient points for spicy chicken sandwich, (2) medium waffle fry reward drop, (3) milkshake reward drop, and (4) sweet front counter worker who didn't want to bother collecting 32¢ for the pepperjack cheese I added to my sandwich order!
Unless I'm missing something, and I'm pretty sure I'm not, Twitter's AI is cranking out CSAM deepfakes, Elon Musk is making jokes about it, and nobody is doing anything to stop it or hold anyone at Twitter accountable for its creation and distribution.
Is that right?

@joepompliano on Threads posted a pic of a map dotted with dozens of yacht names and said: “Pretty much every billionaire that owns a superyacht is in St. Barth right now for New Year's Eve - Jeff Bezos, Miriam Adelson, Shahid Khan, Sergey Brin, Jerry Jones, and 100+ others”
orcas have the chance to do the funniest thing

The thing is:
They CAN do these things. There's literally nothing stopping them from doing it.
Congress would have to protest, and they won't. States will have to sue, and they will have to fight for YEARS to get their due.
The laws say one thing while behavior says another.
I love The Verge
’Tis the season for coworkers’ holiday out-of-office e-mail autoresponders suggesting I e-mail XYZ other worker for urgent assistance, all of whom are *also* out for the holiday.
Well I might have been curious to read this but WSJ (et al) straight up lies. It’s not a gift article if you have to sign up for an account to read it.
Whew, a word: “This is about a sort of learned helplessness that has somehow become socially acceptable, even quirky and endearing in some circles — a professional skill gap that wouldn’t be tolerated in any other field.”
I propose a litmus test, which is that if the President cannot identify a country on a map, he is not permitted to bomb them.
