As many of you know, M.Hewstone is a coauthor on many of my papers, mostly results from a large grant he received with others, which funded my Phd.

Knowing about this from persons directly affected but still having to publish these articles (as the alternative would have been not publishing many years of work) has been a hard choice (which I made consulting with the people affected).

This is not about me. I'm now in a tenured position and could decide to not publish papers with him. But could someone during a PhD make the same decison?
This is not an isolated case, and it is strongly entangled with power relations, a scientific network, funding and further ressources.

We, as the scientific community need ways to foremost protect everyone directly. But we therefore also need to establish structures to protect the research and researchers dependend on the perpetrators' ressources.

I can only agree with Nils, I'm gratefull for this article, foremost to everyone who agreed to be interviewed for it. It is more than time that this information is available publicly.

Faculty members should always assume there are first-generation students in their classrooms, because there almost always are.

Ist das so? Mich erstaunt die Ideenlosigkeit mit der auf Migration reagiert wird. Wenn ich z.b. lokal mit Aktiven spreche höre ich nicht: Grenzen zu. Sondern: Bildungs- und Sozialangebote finanzieren, Integration langfristig denken, Kinder fördern. Migration adressieren und Rechtsruck verhindern.
