I don’t know what this thread means. How was it your fault at all? Have the results been accepted? There’s no answers here at all
As someone who works in tech, this looks super interesting!
Texas…y’all already know
When was the last time a CR was released with enough time for members to actually review it? Like, a week or more?
Walked past the site where Sen. Cruz planned his 2013 shutdown for the first time in ages…RIP Tortilla Coast
One bad commutation produces ten thousand times the outrage of thousands of unnecessary incarcerations.
If you are chiming in only now, ask yourself why you are demanding perfection here, but not on those we lock up in our sadistic prisons?
Why does mercy anger you but cruelty does not?
The metro pop up’s sweater has lights AND sound (the metro door ding!). Matt just had to pick it up!
5th avenue bike planning timeline spanning from 2007 to 2024
Planning for a bike lane in Seattle has taken nearly 3x as long as building the 31 mile Channel tunnel.
We need to desperately change how we plan and build things at every level of government.
Well, my employer decided to plug my #FOIA work in the latest edition of our quarterly magazine, so for those who might not be familiar with my backstory, this provides a cogent summary:

A screenshot from the GitHub Acceptable Use Policy. It says: "11. User Protection You must not engage in activity that significantly harms other users. We will interpret our policies and resolve disputes in favor of protecting users as a whole."
So I wrote this, and it's the best thing I've ever written.
"We will resolve disputes in favor of protecting users as a whole."
That right there. That tells everyone how Trust & Safety is going to act, and it gives T&S profound latitude. They're not there to rules-lawyer or first-amendment.
Inspired to get this doormat I saw at our last Christmas party
The deep goal of bluesky is to decentralize the social internet so that every individual controls their experience of it rather than having it be controlled by 5 random billionaires. Everyone thinks they signed up for a demuskified twitter...we actually signed an exciting and bizarre experiment.
RTO is a certainty but there’s a lot more positive and negative potential for how Congress might approach DC’s public safety challenges
Preview of the top DC issues Congress will focus on next year - crime and RTO - and Mayor Bowser’s approach to each: cautious optimism and clear support, respectively
Saw it at the Kennedy Center and it’s one of my fav theatre experiences ever
A black and white photo of Grace Hopper standing in front of a computer bank. She is wearing a dark knee-length dress and has glasses. She is holding a piece of paper that says "COBOL" in her right hand, and flipping a switch on the computer with her left.
Computer science pioneer and United States Navy rear admiral Grace Hopper was born #OTD in 1906. 🧪 👩🔬
As far as I am aware, she is the only person who has both a supercomputer and a US Navy destroyer named after her. (1/n)

Prattville, Alabama authorities removed a Pride float from the town parade when float sponsors cited possible threats and asked for more security. Federal judge R. Austin Huffaker, Jr.: no, that'd be a heckler's veto and the float stays.
I want to watch TV coverage of the live fall of the Syrian regime.
CNN is airing a Giuliani documentary, Fox News has a comedian joking about Canada, MSNBC a documentary about migrants
So I turned on BBC,which is breathlessly switching between Syria, South Korea demonstrations, and Ghana election
DC doesn’t have many…board room is the only other one I’ve frequented
Pretty clear this just means increasing funding for cops and not letting the current AG have any influence until the new one comes on???

Obama put in the work to reduce the DOJ’s veto authority and implement a thoughtful approach to clemencies. But it wasn’t a structural change. It might be the last time we see such an effort
Nah, this is not the approach to take
I worked on criminal justice reform for years so my broader criticism of the Biden pardon is not partisan: the pardon process is broken and it functions to the benefit of those close to the President.
Neat, a post I did on Instagram went viral on Threads. However if I had included a link on Threads (which isn't even possible on Instagram) then Meta would have throttled it. My job is links, that's why I wont use Threads
When I worked at the movie theater customers were at their meanest on Thanksgiving Day and Black Friday.
Annual reminder: if you decided to go to the movies because you can’t stand talking to Aunt Carol and a dark room is the only solution, don’t take it out on the poor usher.
