A fight scene from the Dragon Wars video game.

It's not mindreading; they learn to read our body language long before we learn theirs, and then they adapt their behaviour to get what they want :P
I've been wondering the same thing...
White cover with snow. JACK LONDON printed across the top in dark, desaturated blue. WHITE FANG printed across the bottom. A full body grey wolf facing the viewer is in between. It's head is down and it is in the middle of taking a step forward.

I like the right one - it has more motion to it, and I almost expect it to continue rolling.
But I like the left, too - so much expression with so few lines, you make it look effortless.
I found it - thanks a lot for following up ^^
Oh yeah. The man, sure. I'm talking about the friendly dog ;)
I'm sure you'll be just fine.
But I have it on excellent authority! Look at the dog! Can't you see the guiless look in his handsome face? Such conviction!
That's not a lying face.
I look forward to reading it!
Almost looks like something Bob Ross would paint.
Crazy beautiful view!
Quirky books that take a bit of time to wrap your head around are amazing.
I've been meaning to get started on Atwood - I'll have to see if I can find this somewhere.
I have to admit, I find the whole 'live food' mentality horrifying...
That said, they can regain the use of their pincers with time and patience.
Leon had physical training, and he ends up becoming quite a handsome lobster again :) - www.youtube.com/watch?v=9sI7...
Lille RΓΈde Kat (Little Tawny Cat) is printed in orange across the top. An anxious ginger cat is sitting in a grassy field, surrounded by daisies as big as itself.

Aah, thanks! ^^ - Yeah, I'm pretty new to social media :P
I'll go look for that feed, then. Been missing something like that :D
You might just do your own January Adventure too, though? Like a certain amount of words per day you're not travelling?
1667 is a nice round number! :D
Sorry for my ignorance - what is a moot?
When Albus looks at me like that, it's either time to go outside or - more likely - I didn't notice her sitting by her bowl earlier.
Diana Wynne Jones in white print across the top of the cover. Hexwood in white print below. The colour scheme is held in ultramarine and dark blues above and golden and green in the bottom, and shows a dreamlike look across a night-time lake with a dark-blue dragon flying above it, and the silhouette of a castle in the background. A person is crouched in the lower right corner.

Create, not scrape!
How to filter out AI Images in Google Image Search.
Sharing this with my students so I figured I'd also share it with everyone here.
Hopefully this image is still relevant given Google's changes. Save this on your computer or phone and refer to it as needed.

Well, most of the preparation is done, and with Christmas and New Year coming up, that's probably a good thing xP
But that said, I'll read through the text and tag where I need to put in work.

Different things, but what works best for me is the strategy I use for blank pages.
I have a convo on the page with myself about why I'm stuck. Usually, it's story unrelated, so I write worries, annoyances, sadnesses, to clear my head, then I brainstorm my scene, then I write.
#StartingOffWrite
I start a conversation with myself right on the page, 'So what do I need now? I need her to get to x. How do I get there? Option a. No, b is better. Well, actually, c should happen, too'.
No longer a blank page, nothing to fear, and I get my bearings to continue into the scene.

I'm not sure about comp titles. I've never been good at that.
Authors who I find inspiring are people like Diana Wynne Jones, Judith Tarr (absolutely in love with her use of language), Victor Hugo, Jack London, Mercedes Lackey, and more.

In Earthbound, a brother and sister find themselves trapped in a power struggle their family lost before they were even born.
If they lose this round, it will be the end of their people, the end of spirit magic, and the end of the man they thought was their enemy.
Hello #StartingOffWrite :)
I'm Lucid Absence from Denmark. My genres are usually fantasy and/or sci-fi in various shapes and sizes.
I did 50k in November with my writing group, so my January Adventure will be to turn those into a digestible story.
