Mesmerizing light sheet imaging of neutrophils swarming at a yeast target!
The neutrophils were labeled with SPY650-DNA (yellow) and a calcium dye (blue).

This movie is part of the recent manuscript by @strickland-evelyn.bsky.social that we highly recommend reading!

CenSpark story is now published in @natchembio.nature.com. We engineered a dual-ligand fluorescent probe to selectively "light up" centrioles & cilia. Massive thank to Pierre Gönczy, @lreymond.bsky.social and @ghatzopoulos.bsky.social for the guidance. Check it out 👉: doi.org/10.1038/s415...

Mirror mirror on the wall who is the brightest of them all?

Brightness is a key parameter for choosing fluorescent reporters in bioimaging. As tricky to assess, we present a pipeline to compare chemigenetic labels and FPs in tissue culture and #zebrafish embryos.

At this high resolution, we also caught something new: Using the new #HAK-Actin #UExM probe, we saw that
#Actin accumulates at the furrow base before compartments fully seal ➡️ they're still open at the bottom.

➡️ The #multicellular epithelium-like stage is shorter than we previously proposed.

A surface rendered view of an endosome. The endosome surface is rendered in blue with dimples on it. In specific regions of the endosomal surface, clusters of proteins are seen as aggregates of blobs, coloured in yellow and red.

🚨New paper out today in @acs.org ACS Nano, showing how expansion microscopy can visually quantify the cell surface receptor turnover mediated by signalling & receptor organising machineries on the surfaces of endosomes, some of the smallest organelles in cells. 🧪 🔬 1/ pubs.acs.org/doi/10.1021/...

5/5 The Takeaway: Flipper-TR didn't just report CMT; it identified CMT as a master switch linking physics to genetics.

From development to disease, this probe proved that how "tight" a cell is matters just as much as its DNA.

seems quite common. I actually found some identical structure in one image that was sent to me.

interesting!
