I get the comfort of believing that big sky daddy has our backs, but I find the idea that we are the universe experiencing and trying to understand itself to be infinitely more comforting. We all stem from the greater consciousness, and we all return to it. We are connected to everything.
I really think people buy into creationist thought out of the arrogance that says humans are built in the image of god. We are somehow a master species and above the rest of nature. People fear of the fact that we are nothing but mold on a rock, and no one is actually in control of anything.
I'm an atheist and I've clearly been interacting with way too much creationist bullshit on FB, because that algorithm is feeding it to me non-stop. Few things can match the unfathomable ignorance of believing in intelligent design. To do so is to attempt to anthropomorphize nature itself.

Really fantastic episode! Just listened. Querying is such an intimidating thing, and you tend to hear different answers to the same questions, depending on who you ask. Hearing from the agents themselves was great and very encouraging.
Just finished Project Hail Mary and saw the movie. Both are quite good but not great, IMO. I'd like to see more variety in Andy Weir's protagonists. Next up, The Devils. Can't wait to finally dive into this. Love me some Joe Abercrombie!

Had a great writing day today. Finally finished the first draft of the 6,500 word mega-prolog to the final book of my Distorted Perceptions trilogy! This has been in the works for the last couple of months, building to a crucial moment for a few of my characters.
