An ultrasound meant more pain, and rain ruled out my electric wheelchair plan.

So I edited in a waiting room instead of writing in a cafe.

Decluttering and creating zones to make life with disability easier led to the discovery of a very broken cat‑approved bookshelf.

Solution: a 50% off flat‑pack cupboard for fabric storage, built the same night, but definitely not as fast as this video makes it look 🤣

Trying to fold clothes with a cat 🐈‍⬛️

I find this interesting as it is so vastly different from my personal experience. Even a few days of not moving etc will cause severe pain and stiffness. But daily consistent movement & small excercises (like knitting for my thumb/hands) for as little as 5 minutes can reduce the pain to near zero.

My jeans get a lot of wear (I basically live in them all year round), so my patches need to be as strong as the denim.

The main protagonist is a Transgender girl who is Autistic & has ADHD called Ellie. She develops close friendships with another Australian girl called Rylee & Toby a boy from the Philippines. There is also Cosmos (who is a Hold Cat) & Mrs Wallace an indigenous Australian who end up mentoring Ellie.

You'll have to wait, no spoilers 😉

I've written a lot more than I thought was possible for my wrist, getting close to ⅓ of the first draft of book one being done.

I have a few scenes I really like, my favourite one was one that I didn't intend to write. It felt like the characters and the world took on a life of their own.
