Truly didn’t think I’d regret not biking 15 miles today, but I’ve been on this bus for over an hour…. with at least another 45 minutes to go. #Q53

Love to Z it!
Dreaming of a grand waiting room with benches for all to sit!
There were as many cyclists over the Queensboro Bridge today as there were cars and trucks. Even when it’s hot as hell, we cyclists make our own breeze 🌬️

Green sign with arrow in a flowerbed saying “new pedestrian path” next to a green bike lane
We did it! Many years of activism came to fruition today as the #MoreSpaceQBB south outer roadway was finally repurposed as a pedestrian-only path. People can now walk and jog across safely. You can even walk side-by-side!!
Taking the time to write this thanks to the $2.75 LIRR tickets from Far Rockaway through “May” as mitigation for the A train rehabilitation project, which @mta.info says is “on track.” 6/6
The Seagirt PBL looks great, the Far Rockaway @qplnyc.bsky.social branch is a masterpiece, but the Beach 20th lane is a mess. 5/
Generally, at this time of year, the headwinds are no joke and there is a lot of sand on the boardwalk. 4/
The “Boardwalk Bike Ban” as reported in the press from Beach 73rd to Beach 108th from Memorial Day to 10/1 after 9:30AM was “just a proposal.” @nycparks.bsky.social is still listening to community feedback. 3/
Cross Bay Blvd is milled all through Broad Channel in both directions: 2/
Hi #BikeQNS! Learned some important pro-tips riding to Rockaway Beach today!!! 1/
The warm weather yields brand new bike riders on 34 Ave Open Streets every day! He came to one of our classes but it was his big sister’s dogged persistence & cheer leading that did it!
Bicycling gives kids a taste of independence & a sense of accomplishment. Great to see!
#OpenStreets rule!
No more delays! Safe space for pedestrians on the Queensboro Bridge has been delayed for one reason or another year after year. Now the fence is up, the signs are changed, and the south outer roadway is ready for pedestrians! The only thing left is for Mayor Adams to stop blocking pedestrians! 🧑🦯🏃♀️🚶♂️🚶♀️🏃♂️
Love commuting to my new job on my favorite protected bike lane!
Community boards influence what actually happens on the ground in NYC. I joined my CB promote transportation equity in Northeast Queens and helped get several miles of bike lanes in our area. I’ve also advocated in favor of a homeless shelter. I strongly encourage other people to join their CB.

This is a small, no brainer step to save lives. The city knows dooring is a leading cause of bike injury & has killed a # of cyclists.
TLC distributes these decals but doesn't require them.
A city actually practicing "vision zero" would have required them long ago @streetspac.org
Save the date for our annual Martin Luther King, Jr along 34 Ave on Mon, Jan 20 we will meet up on 93 St at 10am. Great community activity for all ages. More details to follow including on our annual sign making event.

#Daylighting has two meanings:
1. removing parked cars from intersection corners
2. uncovering buried rivers and streams
Eastern Queens should join the Bronx and Yonkers in the latter.
"Why We Need Daylighting in #KissenaPark"
The sudden car-lightness of Manhattan makes the City Council’s destruction of outdoor dining even more ridiculous & ill-timed than it already was
🎉🚲 Happy congestion pricing Sunday! 🚇🌿
Congestion pricing cameras officially went live at midnight.
Today, we’re celebrating progress — safer streets, better transit, and cleaner air for all New Yorkers.
Together we're building a city that works for everyone.

Friend I am hanging out with at a bar: Ok, I get it! This is your version of sports.
This year showed that change happens when we organize, fight, and never give up.
As we head into 2025, we're ready to keep pushing for a safer, more accessible, and equitable NYC.
THANK YOU for everything you’ve done. Stay tuned for what’s next!
TA’s Youth & Schools Organizer is working alongside our Youth Committee to fight for better bike share access for young people.
We launched our $5 Citi Bike petition to make biking more affordable for all students — because every young New Yorker deserves the freedom to ride.
Together, we won campaigns to build protected bike lanes in Queens.
From the new lanes on 31st Avenue in Astoria and Queens Boulevard in Sunnyside...
to our activists working tirelessly for new protected bike lanes in Bayside, making Eastern Queens safer for cyclists.
As 2024 wraps up, let’s reflect on a year of hard-fought battles and remarkable change that YOU made happen in New York City!
Together, we’ve shown that when communities unite to demand change, we can reshape our city for the better.
Here are a few of this year’s highlights.
NEW sign on the 34th Ave open street: Do not enter EXCEPT BIKES!
If the @nyc-dot.bsky.social doesn't like this, is worried about it slowing down safety projects, then they should aggressively back Intro 1138 for universal daylighting in NYC. If universal daylighting is the law, a whole lot of curb space isn't technically "parking" anymore. @jehiah.cz
