You become more aware of your vulnerability and mortality I think in your 40s, when your body starts to show signs of aging, a privilege not given to all. Seeing your parents becoming elderly is a wake up call. Those who for me were always my strength and protection, needing my support themselves.

Ooh that’s an interesting idea. I cannot imagine teaching as a job if you didn’t adore children, I mean go and find something easier that pays better and doesn’t take over your life! 😆

Interesting read. I really don’t like the twee handshake but absolutely check ins with every child is so important. Setting seems to determine what is achievable-SEND school with high adult ratios a therapeutic approach, firm boundaries and restorative conversations are impactful

It’s absolutely brilliant, sequel is out on 12th Sept 🙌🏼. I’ve been reading TJ Klune’s Wolfsong series, it’s fabulous

This, on Xwitter would result in divisive debate, but I’m really interested what others think on here where there is a positive approach. I teach in a SEND school that has a therapeutic approach to behaviour and generally it’s very successful. Love to hear thoughts

Any recommendations for Victorian topic books, I have flexibility with my curriculum in my SEND school. Have bought The Great Stink but always looking for book recommendations. Thanks!

Have just finished rewriting the overview for a weekly picturebook assembly which focuses on equality, diversity and inclusion. It's still a work in progress but please feel free to use and adapt. All shares appreciated! The link is on my Padlet: padlet.com/Jon_Biddle/r...

He’s amazing and the whole show is amazing. I think Fred is learning as much from the boys. Wonderful to see how they’re all supporting each other 😭

Can I get a like, share or follow if you agree that:

KINDNESS & COMPASSION should be priorities for school curriculum moving forward after the events of this summer!

I love Papier spiral academic diaries. Not the cheapest but feel special and most importantly for me (not sure why) a vertical design in their week to view pages.

Whenever I’ve tried to use it for lesson ideas or resources, it has produced very dry and dull material. Maybe with having a small class of complex learners who I need to engage quite creatively, I’ve just not discovered what it can do yet.
